not a reprisal. I don't know what PI means. what is it short hand for? that's why I typed wtf. as in wtf does that mean. I'm slow. You of all people should know it takes a bit more than that to get under my skin. EDIT: Although, looking at my reply, I can see why you took my reply that way. There is only one way to settle this. beer. you buy me one, and I'll buy you one. call it even. ... and you have to help talk Lisa into posing with my car.

Back to the topic... Under your dash, the harness you're looking for has a 6 prong blue/white plug. I believe the wire you're looking for is black with a red stripe. I can't remember off the top of my head. When your alarm was installed, this was probably the wire that was cut and goes to your alarm box. Hook it back up and it should work like stock. This wire should be the only wire tapped for the alarm unless they took power and ground from it for some reason. If that's not it, have your father take a wire and touch one end of it to the ignitor prong on the starter (not the large wire with the red rubber cap over it, but the black one with the black plug) and the other side directly to the positive terminal on the battery. If the starter doesn't crank, then it's an issue with the starter.

... and you have to help talk Lisa into posing with my car. That sounds like the best friggin' plan I've heard in about six months. Can we talk her into posing with my car too? That's what I love about you guys -- even on day like this, when I'm ready to grab the 30.06 and head for the bell tower, you guys have me LOL! Cheers dudes! Best, SJ

Yes indeed, much better idea -- or pull a certian fuse before you leave. BTW, apologies for hijacking your thread Jessika -- my brain hurts today. ttangel wrote: won't know 'til we ask. SJ

Follow the wires from that plug to where-ever they go behind the dash. It should take you to the harness I descibed earlier. I don't know any of these dorks.

C'mon out to the gatherings so we can say hello. The only one I'd be worried about is the Mad Scientist -- other than that, it's a pretty good group of helpful folks. But seriously, follow his lead (G-ELL=Mad Scientist -- and anything else Adam can think to call him at the time). Best, SJ

Yeah, that looks more like it. there would be no need for a "key" if it was just one wire, imho. I would also follow them and see where they all lead to. Pain in the butt unless your a contortionist. (don't tell me if you are. a whole new string of PI posts would pop up all over the place.) Did you try starting the car with the "key" out, or is the battery still a no show? Your car looks rigged. Maybe it's from the government so they can keep an eye on you. The white box next to it for the neon underbodies? Don't ask me how I know. ...and don't tell SJ about them, he's rather fanatical. (thinks he's in the posche club or something.) Also, don't let Greg fool you. I've puked in front of his X before. As much as he hates to admit it, he knows me.

That's the wire that supplys power to the starter when the key is turned to the start position. The black with a red stripe is powered when the ignition is turned to the acc position.
