shit, I wake up this morning feeling like I ate a bucket of gravel. The belt on the car didn't fix itself, and my garage didn't build itself either. It's a no go for the A-man
I wish the best of luck to those participating. Everyone else have a good time! I want to see some vids.

Okay, I saw what I thought was a fair amount of odd things going on relative to pad wear on Sunday. Now, please understand, I'm not a professional driver, I don't play one on TV and what I know is probably 1/10th of most of you guys I'm sure -- BUT -- that being said, here's some food for thought and a comparision: I pulled my Panthers last night and put the hi-perf street pads back on, along with the chromies (man I forgot how fugly those stock '92 wheels were). The ones off my car are obviously in the middle, new set on the outside. Note the minimal wear. This is after EIGHT track sessions. Six at Road America, two at Gingerman. I bought these track pads after many discussions with Jesse and the Mad Russian, after running my hi-perf street pads at RA. (In fact, I am still running my Axis Ultimate pads I ran at Road America LAST October [2 sessions] on the street -- I'd say at least 1/2 there.) My point is that I abuse my car pretty well in the braking zones, and yes she fades if I get on too @#$%^! early, but bounces back if I cool down a bit. I blame that on the size of the stock '92 calipers and rotors. But to see Nick burn through his hi-perf street pads in two sessions and then literally burn through what I thought was 1/2-3/4 left of a "seasoned" set of R4's, and Aaron go through 1/2 of a brand new set of R4's in one session makes me wonder a lot of things -- including if they didn't get bad batch. I was always taught hard on as late as possible, quick off -- and that truly seems to work best for me. Maybe it's technique, I don't know, but it seems odd they both were R4's. SJ

Yeah it was definitely a successful event, the weather couldn't have been better and I can now say from first hand experience Road America is an awesome course. My front brakes on the other hand didn't especially like the course or my style of braking hard from 135mph as could be concluded from the flames coming from my right wheel in the pits after my 3rd session . I'm glad to report that it looked much worse than it was. I pulled the front brakes off yesterday, aside from the 2 inner pistons on the right caliper being welded to what was left of the pad, things look salvageable. The Porterfield R4 pads seem to have been the problem as they went from 3/4s to completely gone and badly disfigured in just one track session. For comparison the HAWK HPS pads went through 2 sessions and still had a little left on them. I don't think I'll be getting R4s again anytime soon. I bet Aaron would have had more wear on his if it wasn't for his cooling ducts.
