I know, I know...most said to buy the DNP Y-pipe but at a cost of $200 with the coupling that is a bit much for me. I picked up a Y-Pipe on Greed bay and it measures up pretty good. Welds look good from the outside. being a wood carver I have a bunch of special equipment for grinding. I ground the inside of the welds where there were some high spots, small beads that could break off and and sharp areas. I then cleaned the inside out and then gave it a good washing. I picked up a reinforced adapter from Silicone Intakes and it looks to be pretty good. I also got the T-clamps from them. Not sure when I will install it but I will let you known how it pressure tests. All in all not a bad pipe, shines pretty good and is a lot lighter than the factory Y-pipe. The picture makes the ebay pipe look shorter but it isn't . It measured up just fine. Bunk

If it doesn't leak who cares were it came from. I've been thinking about getting one also.

The only thing that didn't fit was hose for the boost controller so I need to find and adaptor to downsize the hose to the normal diameter. Other than that it went in find and fit pretty good. I think some people forget when they get aftermarket parts, parts powdercoat or polished that they first need to clean them out good before installing. Just because the Y-Pipe was new I still checked all the welds on the inside to make sure there was nothing that would break loose and go into the intake. The urge is to just put it on but you need to clean and check it first.

I picked up an adapter for the boost controller Vac hose and it's all hooked up. Did a pressure test on Tuesday and a huge leak in the throttle body gasket. (I know Adam will say why didn't you change it last year when we tested and found it leaked!) Well the leak wasn't too bad (very small at a high pressure). Because I polished my intake this spring I had to remove the throttle body and knew the gasket would need to be replaced. No other leaks that I could find so as of right now the ebay Y-pipe has no leaks!
Just glad to have my summer ride back on the road for the summer. Only problem is the price of premium.

The gasket will only seal if it's installed the exact same way it came off. If it's rotated at all or backwards, it won't seal at all.

Well the gasket is pretty old and was showing a slight leak last year when Adam did a pressure test. Now removing the throttle body from the intake to polish the intake and using the same gasket its leaking a lot worse. I know I need a gasket, I just need to order one.
