The trick is to remove the rear plenum. It's not hard, just time consuming. I did not unhook the throttle body when I did mine, I just kind of held up the plenum, or spun it off to the side,(I don't quite emember which way it was)that way I did not have to deal with unhooking all that also. Don't drop anything down the intake. GReg will help...

NA plenums are easy. 2 vac lines (one for the purge control, one for the fuel pressure regulator), 4-6 bolts (think they're 12mm) hold it to the lower plenum, and the 4 bolts for the throttle body (leave everything connected to it). I can help if you have any questions.

Oh I forgot about the throttle cable. There are 2 10mm bolts that hold it to the plenum. Mark the position of the bolts with white-out or something before you remove them so you know where exactly to put them when you're reinstalling the cable.

Is the throttle cable a big deal to get perfect?
I've had mine off a couple off times. I just pull it taunt, but so the butterfly flapper is shut.
Car seems to still run and idle well...
Please advise.

Too tight and you mess with idel, too loose, and the throttle plate never opens all the way. No you don't have to get it perfect. The way you have it Adam is just fine.

There is a gasket between the upper plenum and the lower plenum. is that what you mean? Also a gasket between the throttle body and the the plenum... I believe that most people will tell you that you need a new ones, but I reused mine. no leak. I checked.

VexRdk wrote: hey will i need a new gasket? You should replace them because they usually don't seal right when you reuse them, but NA's aren't as picky about vacuum leaks like TTs are. At least put a very thin layer of RTV on the gasket to make it seal properly.
