If you have AAA, you might want to check out their auto insurance rates.
For my Stealths, I went from paying $364/6-months for each one, to $177/6-months each (American Family) with the same deductables and coverage. My home owners insurance even went down $200 a year as well.
The only downside is my Honda went up like $60 more every 6 months. Not sure why. But all in all, I should save quite a few pennies. If you have AAA, call them up for a quote.

Ouch those old rates seem high. Maybe it is a location thing. I know a coworker's rates went up when he moved from New Berlin to West Allis.
I pay $166 / 6 months for the VR-4 (it went up when I got married) and $120 for the house. The wife's car is a different matter at $266 every 6 months for a POS 96 Jetta GL.
I have had the VR-4 with AmFamily for the last 8 years with zero claims which helps. At the begining it was $1,800 every 6 months, the car had a higher value at that time too.

Post your agent name and number - I'm currently paying 80 a month full coverage right now. Granted I'm not as old as you fawkers but can at least see how much it would be.

Jeanette Rankin 800 723 0220 (you'd have to ask for her directly)
I dont know if you can get AAA insurance though without AAA membership.

Reviving an old thread here. I've been curious, should I really expect to see my insurance rates drop when I hit age 25 three months from now? I know I've heard that story a billion times, is it always true? or not necessarily? As a 24-year-old single male with no violations or accidents with a milwaukee zip code (unfair, considering it's deep into west allis), progressive is charging me: $699 for 6 months on the 95 VR4 (liability/comp/coll) $244 for 6 months on the 97 exploder (liability ONLY) I'm hoping to get some relief come May. Also, does anyone have any frame of reference on the above rates given my age/history/marital status/location? Do they seem in-line or out of whack? Comparing to the rates that other people posted in this thread, is it that much of a difference to not be 25? Or that the car is a 95 and not a 91 or 92? Not looking forward to writing an $810 check next month....

I can't speak for AAA, but when I was shopping around for rates, I found that State Farm was pretty reasonable. I used to have AmFam, but they wouldn't insure a sportbike, so I made the switch. When I was 24, I was paying about $500 every 6mo for a '99 GTP. When I turned 25, it dropped to $280 every 6mo. Looking at the rates, I guess the only benefit I have over AAA now is that tickets do not count against my premium since I'm in the Preferred group with State Farm (thankfully since I have 2). The only thing that will cause my premiums to increase is an "at fault" accident.
