Hey Brad. Long time no see. Good to see you posting at W3SI. I went with the 2 piece (it's been on my car for almost a year now) because the 1 piece had vibration and I couldn't get rid of it. With the 2 piece unit, I've not had any vibration and have even gone 150+ without problem. Approximate cost? Well. I actually have this documented for everything I've bought. It's scarey. I could post it if anyone is really interested in seeing it. I just don't want it to come across the wrong way like I'm trying to impress anyone with how much money I'd have dumped into the car. Let's just say, that it's probably right around the same amount as the thread that Jeff is referring to. The difference is, not all of my $ went towards performance. ALOT went towards cosmetics. My goal is to have a genuine SHOW car with serious performance in the 11's. I've NO doubt I'll have that once my upgrades are complete later this year. It'll be nice to represent the 3/S in the numerous car shows I do every year. Anyways, if anyone really wants a price list, I can do that... I think once everyone sees the finished product, they will be impressed, however I'm not sure it'll justify the total cost involved, hehe. Jesse

Ya, I just meant when you buy the parts slowly, you don't realize how much it adds up. But when you add everything up, it gets scary! But you only live once, so you may as well have fun doing it! Not many people have the opportunity to drop the 18k at once like the guy on 3si did, but it sure would be fun.

Wow Jesse that is a huge list. I am getting more and more tempted to try the xado cermet treatment. It is that or a ring job or shortblock. I'm low on one cylinder so I think it might be a bad ring land. 3SX DP Maybe some other items. I like the cost to performance ratio of the TD05 adapter plates at http://www.just-performance.com but I don't think I can spare the cash or downtime.

The fun has begun...
Last night I yanked out of a bunch of stuff to get it ready for pulling the engine. Went surprisingly quick. It's amazing how fast things go when bolts break loose easily (stupid red car). I think I had the exhaust dropped in less than 15 minutes.
Only major things left are dropping the transfer case, move the cruise cables, disconnect power steering lines, and removing the halfshafts.
Looks like I'll be taking the alternator and AC compressor somewhere to get them polished. Way too heavy to ship to Dave Best to do them along with my other items, grr. Joe would be disappointed if I skipped doing those.

NOW THERE IS SOME SERIOUS WEIGHT REDUCTION! So Jessy I take it you like the Flintstones! 2 holes in the floor and you can get tons of hose power! Yah right and a very big hill ! Wow! could you actually find any dirt in that compartment ? Gene would be down right proud! Tim

Tim, I found some dirt yep. And even paint that's flaking off. It's getting thorough cleaning tho. Can't wait for the rest of the goodies to arrive. Here's a pic of the alternator and ac compressor I just got back from polishing. Bad lighting doesn't really show off the compressor's shine as much as it actually is. I'm too lazy to retake the pictures, lol. I have a problem.
