I'm beyond fucking livid right now. I was over at a buddies house watching the Brewer's game and playing poker, and I just got home.

I had already removed most of the tape from my car, and had some clearcoat come off. I was pissed, but knew the car needed a repaint anyways, and was trying not to let it get to me.

Well, I just got home a little while ago, and immediately got a call from my buddy saying that his car was egged and to check mine. Sure enough, I go outside and notice egg all over my passenger side (the side that was still covered in tape). Then I notice something else. A bunch of the tape on the door panel was coming off. Like someone had already pulled the tape off and then tried to stick it back on. I start pulling the tape off, and my worst nightmare came true. THE FUCKING PAINT STARTED COMING OFF WITH IT. I now have a huge area on the passenger door panel that the paint is striped down to the primer. The area surrounding was covered in egg yolk and pieces of shell. I washed that off right away, but it's really too dark to tell if it damaged my clearcoat.

I called a couple of other people I know who live in the area (yes, I'm pissed off enough to wake people up at 3 in the morning), and one of them said that their neighbor's house was egged at like 11. So I'm going to go ahead and assume that the egg was sitting on my paint covered in tape for around 3 hours or more.

I swear to fucking god, I will find the rat bastard who did this. And when I do, his car will be unrecognizable. This little cocksucker will have wished he never fucked with anyone's car. Especially mine. The little shit will get his due karma ten fold.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm seriously considering water in the gas tank.

Guys, I don't even know what to say right now. I'm seriously at the point of tears. The car is much worse than I initially thought. I don't know how I didn't notice this shit earlier. I just pulled the car into my garage so i could get a closer look at everything (It was just in my driveway because I need to leave for work in about an hour anyways). Something was also done to the driver's side door panel. I'm not sure what it was, but there was some sort of dried fluid on it that smelled crazy strong (definitely not egg). When I started to wipe it off, it took the paint off with it. So now both the passenger and the driver's side door panels are fucked. My clearcoat is fucked all over. Not sure if this is from egg or tape or combination of the two.

Whoever did this also decided to kick the ever loving shit out of my rear bumper. Dented the fuck all over. Luckily I have another one to replace it with but it still pisses me off.

Seriously, if anyone is good with body work and wants a car that runs 99% perfect, shoot me a fucking offer. I don't even care anymore. I have a bunch of shit that could or could not go with the car depending on price. But for christ's sake, don't fucking insult me. I'll fucking rip you in two if you offer me $500.

Yeah man, that shit does suck, my SL got egged once as well, still has damage to the door from it. File a police report so you have it on record, then call your insurance company about a repaint. I know a guy that does paint work, so that might be an option as well.

Step 1: call police.

Chances are, if these guys did more then one car, they will do it again.

At some point they may be caught, and then the police will be able to stick them with all of the similar vandalism.

Sucks though. Maybe it's time to install security cameras IN the car...

i wouldnt worry about it too much scott. when my ex and her friends keyed the fuck out of my firebird, i was devastated at first, but realized i wanted a new paint job on it anyways, since my mom washed it for me one day and decided to use a potato brush on the front bumper where the bug guts wouldn't come off very easily.

like you said, you have wanted new paint on it for a while, just think of this as a little bit of a motivator. and if you do figure out who did it, just think of it as a free paint job.

in my experience i find people dumb enough to vandalize cars are dumb enough to get caught.

Sorry to hear about it man, but like everyone else has said take a deep breath and calm down. It isn't worth selling your car and losing money on it. I think pretty much everyone on here has been pissed off to the point where they wanted to get rid of their car at least once. Hopefully they catch the little bastards.

Thanks guys. Sorry for the temporary madness, the car is not for sale. The thing that sucks is that I really don't have $6000 or more dollars to spend on a paintjob. I have the money, but it's being saved for school, so I refuse to spend it. Also, I don't want to dip into the money I already set aside for the car for my summer projects.

Basically, I only have liability insurance, so they cant do anything. My buddy called the cops and filed a report. I will not. Basically, they said "We'll look into it, but have other things going on, so don't hold your breath." When I find out who this rotten son of a bitch is (and trust me, I will find him), I will make him think twice about ever fucking with someone else's car again.

Call me immature, but in this case, it's an eye for an eye as far as I'm concerned.

my car's total color change (- engine bay) was less than $3k

you won't have to do the bay or door jambs, you could probably get an entire repaint for fifteen hundred if you have any acquaintances that dabble in it.

Im right there with you man. I woke up last wednesday morning to leave for phoenix and found my car was broken into and they stole about 1800 bucks worth of stuff. Who ever did it knew what they were doing. they pulled my drivers window out of alignment and gained entry that way. People suck and im right there with you if I find the jackass(s) that did it.

You can do a lot of the prep work yourself too if you want to cut down the cost

Haha, thanks, I needed a good laugh. No but seriously, I'm debating covering the whole thing in tape again.

About new paint. I initially budgeted 6 grand for next summer to get the entire car repainted. This would include engine bay, door jams, and trunk. It would possibly be a color change, too.

I talked to my one buddy who paints bikes on the side. He said he would give it a shot if I wanted him to, but he's never painted a car before, so I don't think I'll go that option.

I also know another guy through someone else that supposedly does incredible work. If memory serves, a full paintjob would be around or under 5 grand.

If any one else has any ideas, throw them my way. Thanks for all the help everyone.
