I started her and drove for about 1-2 mins and it died. I've checked for engine fuse, fuel pump is working, that thing (forgot the name of it) that is on the passenger side kind of next to the ecu, is clicking. at this point I just think that something is frozen. but what else I should check? Battery is ok. Push start didn't work. Help, its my DD.

I hooked up the battery charger and tried.. no start. Sprayed some starting fluid, and tried.. started right up. I will charge my battery and try tomorrow morning.
so what is wrong if my car needed some starting fluid to start? something that I need to worry about?

your not getting any fuel..do you have a data logger? check the fuel pressure to see if you got fuel going to the rail.
what kinda car is it? a TT?

i had the same problem with my vr-4 and me and ccrunner figure it out after much looking into..this is gonna sound really stupid but check the engine fuse by the kick panel on the driver side pull it out and push the prungs out alittle so it fits into the spot tighter that sovled my problem..
otherwise like i said before check the fuel to the rail could be a really badly clogged fuel filter if it never has been changed.

fuel filter was changed this summer. I was able to start it no problem thruout the day. but my car did die two time while I was driving and I was able to start it after a minute or so after I pulled over.
I do have a logger and will check things. it is a 1G vr4.

Pull a spark plug wire out, hold it near a metal part of the motor and have someone crank the motor. It should zap the metal piece.
If it does, pull the spark plug out and examine it for fuel. It should look wet.
Do both and report back.

I don't know if that would help right now. cuz it does start. but it dies on the road. and it would start again. only the first time it didn't want to start right a way. (I had to tow it home and mess with it). maybe when it doesn't start there is no fuel or spark, but I can't tell whether its going to start right now or not. it might or it might not, or it will but on the second try.

I would start by changing the fuel filter. You could have some moisture in the gas that freezes or the filter could be clogged again. Does it stay running when it's above freezing? Is there ethanol in the gasoline you buy? One good thing about ethanol is it absorbs a certain amount of water in the fuel system. Check the fuel pressure at the rail. Maybe a fuel pump but start with the easy things.

Let's see...the temperature has been below freezing with a fluctuation of +20 degrees the past few days. All the symptoms you've described would indicate a bad ECU - specifically the capacitors. Improbable, but still a possibility - a bad CAS. They can be affected by drastic temperature changes, which we have had the past few days. I have several sets of Nichicon caps for the 1G's. If you need them, I can mail them out and have them to you tomorrow.

I was thinking its the water in the tank/lines. but I use e85 (or right now its e70) and I read that its suppose to get rid of all the water/moisture in the tank. I will be checking capacitors now.

Ah I had no idea your car is modified. That changes things.
What are you using to tune? What are your stock o2 sensors doing while the car is running?
