So I'm thinking about selling the VR4 now. I've been driving one 3000gt or another as long as I've had my license and I think it's time for me to move on.
I'm actually looking at the Pontiac GTO (with the LS2) and would like to sell my 3000gt.
So with that said let's start with the good -
- I am the second owner which is good considering its a 17yr old car
- The car is in pretty good working condition for its age
- It has less than 71k miles on it right now but will change a little depending on how long this add is up. I put about 4k miles on it and have owned it since 2006
- The transmission was replaced a year ago with one from a Japanese VR4 because my output shaft was worn. At the same time, a BRAND NEW tc with a tc bracket was put in along with a Stage 2 clutch.
- I own the car. No need to deal with third party lien holders on this end.
- Tires are a year old and have plenty of tread left.
- Climate control works well
Now the not so good:
- My car lost traction on black ice last year and the passenger side brushed against a snow bank. The passenger fog will need to be replaced and a new front bumper might be needed. A guy I know quoted fixing it for less than $500 if I provided the foglight. This was the first and last time I drove the car in winter. Car was checked, axles looked at etc, and wheels re-aligned right after. Tires were changed at the same time.
- The car is green. Some may not like it. It wasn't my big thing when I got it, but it did grow on me.
- There is a small dent on the driver side door. The person responsible for it never showed up but if I ever find out who it was...well..revenge shall be mine
- AA does not work and although the windshield fluid reservoirs are filled every oil change, the sensor still stays on - bum sensor from what I've been told.
- Driver seat wear as shown in the pics
Other things:
- There is an aftermarket head unit in it right now. I am planning on removing this since the wife wants it. There are also Kenwood speakers that may or may not be removed. I will have the original single CD head unit (double din) reinstalled.
I'm changing the pricing to $4,500 based on the highest amount that I will get from the "Cash for Clunker" bill. I do not want to have a low-mileage VR4 trashed but I will do so if it does not sell. Car is being sold AS IS with no warranty implied.
I'm willing to show the car to interested parties provided a good time can be arranged. I'm sorry but I cannot allow test drives since the insurance is in my name.
Regards,
Test
P.S - I hope she goes to a good home. When I bought the car, I was told that the 60k had been done. I made the mistake of buying the parts for the 60k before checking. Those parts have been sold now because I didn't need them. I use Valvoline fully synthetic oil by the way and I do it because valvoline is one of the few places where I can drive the car in and then drive it out.
