I changed my spark plugs to NGK-BPC7ES (advanced auto said they won't fit my vr4 ) and got some MSD 8.5mm wires. I was getting spark blow-out at 11 psi before. And we went to "tune" my car. I was able to blow 18.5 psi (yes on pos 9B turbos) without any knock and got close to 100% injector. and at 19.5-20 psi I blew intercooler hose, fixed that and ran again, blew another one and fixed that one. Now everything should be holding good, and will leave it @ 18 psi for racing and 12 psi for regular driving. now I just need TC bracket to take it to the drag strip.

I was told they are, but I would like to know how hot. with DSM intercoolers and no knock. every time when I'd turn up the boost a little, car would get a little more "tork" at mid rpms, but I'd end up at 10psi around 5500 or 6000rpms any way.

IIRC if you have the fuel you can push 9Bs to about 17psi efficiantly. Not sure what the plugs you ran are but I've heard to run BKR7ES-11s.

Not to mention when you work the turbo that hard, you are asking for early failure do to bearing problems... probably not quite as quickly on the water-cooled turbos, but it will happen eventually. If they are the stock turbos that came with the car, I say screw it, run what you can get, and if you blow a turbo, it's a great excuse to upgrade... However, I'd bet that you are probably not making any extra power, as you are moving the same mass of air. You'd really have to be on a dyno and run it at say 15 and then again at 18 to know for certain... And I could very well be wrong, just the way I think it will work out.

I don't care about turbos too much. they are old and need to be replaced. But I'd like to see the diff on a dyno. hopefully sometime this summer.

oh yes. on 93 with that boost on stokers I'd be "saving the pieces" of my engine.
