From Darcy up in BC (he still can't log in for some reason):
Yo dood
Just took the Garage Queen for the first spin of the year...7 months since the last one. Beautiful Day, blue sky, sunshine. Ran like a charm. But, I noticed the SRS light was on and it has never stayed on before after start up diagnosis. Likely dust on something. Anyway, before I spend a whole bunch of time reading or monkeying, is there anything you can think of that is simple...which it likely is....like a fuse?
Darc
Try the 10x reset ignition on and off?

first gen or second? that 10x on and off doesn't work for one or the other, and then your only option is the dealer for the diagnosis, and clear the light.

Easy things to check -fuse -the locking tab on the srs computer
You can also unplug the 2-2 wire connectors on the srs computer and check them for resistance, they go to the 2 front impact sensors. They should read ~20,000 ohms if Im remembering correctly, the service manual goes into more detail.

Low battery voltage will sometimes trigger the light. Stupid thing has to be reflashed in order to get cleared. You can't just simply disconnect the battery to erase it.

I just remember going into the dealership about two years ago and asking him to clear the code.
He told me I needed an apointment and it would take two days.
Then I left.
Hindsight being twenty-twenty it was one of those times where I should have just kicked the garage-monkey in the nuts and danced around laughing while slinging insults at him.
