This email made my day: Fellow Motorsport Enthusiast, The Midwest F-Body Association has opened registration for its spring, ‘09 event. The dates will be April 18 & 19, 2009. We are still working on updating the website so please print the attached registration form and Liability waiver and mail it to the address below. You can pay by Check or Paypal. The email address for Paypal payments is mfba@fbody.us and for Checks please make them out to Midwest F-body Association. For those who are familiar with our event already, there will be some changes made regarding registration procedures. Changes Noted Below: Payment Cost: Date Range_______________Weekend________1 Day Before Jan 15 ____________ $395 ___________$230 After Jan 16 to Mar 1_______ $445___________$255 Mar 2 to Event_____________$495___________$280 The Mailing Address has also Changed to the Following: MFBA Attn: Carmen Drays 4924 Fielding Rockford, IL 61102 For our upcoming April, 2009 event we are urging that most payments and registration forms be submitted before January 15, 2009 to cover the cost of the deposit for the track rental. Most other aspects of the event itself will remain the same, however we are looking to add several popular vendors onsite that will be selling parts. For those who are not familiar with our event, we are going into our 9th year running and offer the opportunity for the automotive enthusiast to drive their car on the famed Road America racetrack in Elkhart Lake, WI. We have 4 different run groups available so that whether you are a novice that has never driven on a track before, a seasoned race driver or somewhere in-between, you will be placed with drivers of similar experience. Our event caters to you getting effective track time in a controlled environment, and having fun while doing it. This is a 2 day non-timed, non-competitive event and instructors will be available to for coaching and ride-alongs. Event alumni includes members from the SCCA, NASA, Midwest Council, Northwoods Region Shelby Club, Porsche Club of America, Badger Bimmers, American LeMans Series, and many other fine organizations. For further event information or questions, please visit http://roadamerica.fbody.us or email us at roadamerica@fbody.us Thank You and Let Your Friends Know Too! Midwest F-body Association Carmen Drays MFBA Treasurer
I have contacted Tim to get more specifics. Now, finally, something to look forward to. SJ Signup List: 1. SJ and the kid at minimum (probably only one day) 2. Dr. Jack Tertadian 3. Philip Glazatov (THE Mad Russian) 4.

George tells me that:
"The plan is to move into the new building in March. The Gear Box concession stand is being remodeled and will be open for the season. "
Ought to be interesting changes -- long over due as well.

This really sucks! Just thought I would let you know about this ahead of time, so it don't come as a surprise if it comes true.......MFBA is not sure how things are gonna work out here.....but the October Rental and all Future RA rentals are in question now.....This April event may be our last MFBA RA rental. We can't seem to get the cars this year and we were already working this event in the hole from last Aprils event. The MFBA council members have already dipped into our own personal pockets just to make the inital deposit for this year and now we may have to do it again to foot the bill for the rest of the rental cost due to not enough people registering. If we have to do that again then the event is done for good.
So if you know anyone else who wants to run at RA PLEASE urge them to register before the event.
Thanks

I'll be going Saturday to watch. What time is everyone headed up there? Is there going to be a caravan?

I leave at 6a to get there in time to unload, mandatory drivers meeting, pass tech, drop off kid in corner -- and go!

Just a big thanks to all who came out yesterday. Had a blast!
What a great day! Nice seeing everyone that I only see at RA, and those I see only at events as well.
Hope you all enjoyed yourself as well.
