Don't you know that turbos that big are not meant for pussies?

Yeah he wasn't very happy about getting this head shoved in there. Since I'm sick I spent the night polishing the compressor housing rather than consuming spotted cow.

I made some more progress on the setup last night... Tonight I should be tacking together the rear header, then I'll have everything TIG'd this weekend. [/img]

It should be derivable soon, and the project should be mostly done by February or March. When/Where is the UMG? I've never gone to it.

When/Where is the UMG? I've never gone to it. It's always the weekend before memorial day IIRC. It's a 2-3 day deal in Wisconsin Dells.

I'm hoping it'll be mostly done by then, maybe even tuned. I'll see if I can make it to the UMG, I'd also like to hit up the NG if I don't blow it up at the track before then. The headers/IC Piping are being TIG welded this week and should be back on the car soon, I still need a clutch and the AEM EMS before I can take it for a spin.

My buddy finished TIG welding the headers today. I might try to fit everything on the car sometime this weekend. The only thing left now is down-pipe, which I'm going to just weld with my shitty wire-feed. I decided I didn't give a shit about equal-length while making the headers, we'll see how these work. I can always make another set if I need to, they cost less than $100 to make.

I'm just waiting for my AEM EMS to arrive then I can finally try to start the car. Other than that I still need to finish the fuel setup, get some nice rims, paint, and a few other things. I'll probably be building up a second engine block so I can swap that in this summer and really crank up the boost. The wastegate setup is nearly finished, it'll be dumping out the passenger side fender. The pipes stay divided up to the wastegate valve.

Looks like everything is fitting up real nice.
Is that fuse box staying that close to the turbo or is that only a temporary placement?

It was temporarily zip tied over there when I was mocking up the turbo kit. I'm still not sure exactly where its' going to end up, I originally made an aluminum box to try to shield it from the heat, but I'm not sure if I like the way it looks. The turbo will also have a heat blanket over it to help a bit.

FWIW, i think the box idea looks ok, but I don't know if that will give you enough heat protection. If you could somehow put some insulation between the aluminum box and the fuse box that would help a lot.

The interior is starting to come together now. Last night I picked up some carpeting from Menards for $0.49/ft. This stuff is really easy to work with, I just had to cut a few holes for the roll cage and it went right in. Then I finished up the wiring for my push-button start. I got a momentary push-button from summit racing and wired that up to a relay. One of the other switches will be used for switching between E85 and regular pump gas maps. I really need to buy a new steering wheel too, mine is ugly.
