I found a 92 Stealth TT for sale but it appears to need lots of work.
Something happened to the engine several years ago and they pulled it, tore it apart, then I guess let it sit around for conversation pieces for another year. It's supposed to be rebuilt by a well known machine shop in my area but the owner assembled it. It looks like crap, the engine is in but the timing covers are off, intake just sitting there and all hoses, electrical, accessories and radiator are still off. These guys don't have a clue on how to assemble this car. The front turbo is shot, 148k on the car, clear coat is peeling bad and almost every body panel has a dent or scratch. I don't know about the condition of the 5 speed, transfer case or anything else. This IS a basket case. He wants 3000.00 Should I run? I really want a project though.....If I bought it I would completely rebuild the engine and trans. Thanks

Seems a little high for something that doesn't even run and obviously not treated right. For $3k I'd be happy to sell you my FWD-TT Stealth though, atleast it runs

Especially if its cosmetically in tuff shape. later, Curt

I offered him 1500 and he was offended. I suppose they have that much in the engine rebuild but if they assembled it, from what I saw, they have no idea what they're doing. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know if I would have even offered $1000. The car is in pieces, the front turbo is bad, I would guess the rear can't be far behind. The body sounds like it would need alot of work and it's a '92. What kind of crack is this guy smoking?

I thought it would be worth 1500 to part out, but it's in sad, sad condition.
