FYI: In purchasing Jesse's turbos I called dynamic racing and inquired about the possibility of a warranty transfer/coverage of second owner. They said no way, no how. DR turbos are only under warranty for the original purchaser. About all you can do (like Jesse did) is send them in to DR for any warranty related issues/to get inspected before selling to the new owner; anything found during this time will still be covered under warranty.

We got both manifolds off without removing the A/C or Altenator...! He's gonna pound out some flanges, then when the turbo/wastegate arrive we'll tack em up, and make some headers. after that it's intercooler time. unclebenny wrote: FYI: In purchasing Jesse's turbos I called dynamic racing and inquired about the possibility of a warranty transfer/coverage of second owner. I'm not worried about a warranty. I just want to have them rebuilt so that the next owner knows they are getting a good set of turbos. new 3/s terms that matt yelled at my car last night: Rice eating, rice cake walking f*****s squished port injection

It's been a bit scratched on the purple top hat part from when I was a dumb ass and didn't hook it up out of the way of the reverse gear shift for the second gens. It holds 21 psi, though. confirmed. I'd like to get 140 for the whole speel.

Make sure to watch out for the "dink plate" and the "gook rod".

TURBO CAME IN. TURBO CAME IN. YIPPIE!!!!!!!! UPS delivered it this morning right before I left for work! This thing is freaking huge!!!!!!! Also in is the tial wastegate, and flanges to make everything work. Even the down pipe. So we'll be busy little beavers fabbing everything up now. The turbo looks pretty intimidating. Think I should tattoo anything on the compressor housing? like "super-sucker" the waste gate also looks pretty mean. It's alot heavier than I expected. I'm fairly certain we will have to fab up a few rods going to the bracket to keep the welds from cracking on the headers now... Who can host pictures for me?!?!?!?!? EDIT: question. oil and water lines. cap them, or loop them? I'm thinking cap them personally. But I'm not sure about the rear oil line... maybe I'll loop that one?

Take a picture of your woman holding the turbo and wearing a white "I <3 Boost" tanktop.
Loop all of the oil lines. I'd route a custom oil feed for the turbo right at the oil filter housing.
Replace the whole thermostat housing with an NA one. They are exactly the same only there are no turbo coolant ends. Very clean way to get rid of them.

N.I.C.E. That thing IS rather LARGE. I'd show some pics of the DR650Rink's I just had delivered, but you wouldn't be able to see them behind the beer can.

She is so far not impressed with my car or my turbo. She doesn't think it's fast. (she also has never been in it when I have stepped on the gas. but don't tell her anything. I'm waiting for that priceless moment when I line up against her cousin's jacked up chevy pickup. and then I'll let her ride with him. ) G-ELL wrote: Loop all of the oil lines. I'll look into an NA thermostat in a bit. I just hate to loop oil lines past the headers in the back if I don't have to. and the coolant lines you can barely see now anyways... The front line I was just gonna use for feed the turbo. -4 AN in and -10 AN line out. problems with that? I wouldn't think so... It was good enough for the mitsu turbos... Found a spot for the turbo to sit. now just waiting for tubing and BOV to come. yay.

G-ELL wrote: I'll give it 4 months, then he'll burn out his clutch, and realize that rear header makes doing a clutch change a lot harder than it needs to be. Are you F***ing Sh*ting me? I'd probably wait to see what the headers look like before I say something like that. four bolts from turbo to manifold. three more for a bracket to hold the turbo. V-band for the down pipe. two more V-bands for the headers (one for the rear collector, and one for the front.) and your holding everything you need to take off in your hands. Three clamps for intercooler piping. And I can see my transmission before I start. I don't have twenty miles of intercooler shit to take off anymore. let alone trying to get behind the engine to get a wrench or socket on some of those rear turbo hose clamps. I'd deal with some V-bands far and away before I'd pull off a downpipe like Brett's (no offense Brett, but that DP is a whore.) and screw with a clutch then fight to get a downpipe back on again. And no more f***ing rear turbo o-ring. which was pretty much the whole reason for this project.

Yes, the downpipe is a bitch.
I still need to gut the rear pre-cat. Hmm, maybe a winter w3si shindig at our new place... Joe has to come up here and get his trophy anyway.
