So some of you may recall I flew back to my hometown, Columbus, Ohio back over Memorial Day, when I stood up in my best buddy's wedding?
I just received the horrible news his sister Debbie died today at 49.
Life is short -- go hug someone you love.
This year can't be over fast enough for me.

bummer. sorry to hear SJ.
Don't wish for time to go by to quickly, or you will miss the stuff you wanted to see as well.

A girl that was at the wedding called to tell us she was just diagnosed with Stage 2 Lymphoma... My own father admitted to me only today he had prostate surgery Friday... he was going to call me. I guess it's a good thing I'm here (he still lives here). Working on music, videos and pictures now. I'll be back Friday -- I think. Weather here fits the mood. Blek. SJ

So this afternoon I pretty much forced myself to pull the cover off and drive it. Really... I think it's the first time I've almost smiled in over two weeks. Really, really, really glad I did. And, while every courtesy was offered in Columbus during my horrible trip home, I had forgotten what a nice car these cars are. My buddy has seven BMW's, a newer M3, an IX, mainly E30's or something like that. I was offered his black convertible for my driving around. While they both share the Getrag's, I found my car to ride better, be more responsive, and shift one hell of a lot better. It brought a grin to my face. It's a really nice day down here in Les Paul land and I felt so much better in what I'm going to call my really nice car. I'm going to try and drive it some more tomorrow and maybe even Wednesday if I can, and hope I can wash it before I put it away. We must have been having fun on the RC as there is a fair amount of brake dust on the wheels. It was very happy to be out and about today. I also filled up the tank, and if my math is right it averaged 19.5 mpg during the rural cruise and a quick trip over to Dr. Jeff's. Not bad. I hope this funk, damn nasty cold and headache leave me soon. The world remains a bit upside even now. Best, SJ

That's good to hear SJ. I hope your father is doing well. I will be leaving on what hopes to be an attitude adjustment in Maui Wednesday night. I will be visiting the local drag strip on their open racing night one of the Fridays I am there. First real vacation in over twelve years. Relatives staying at the house while we are gone. I hope it's still here when we get back. On second thought, why come back? It will most likely be in the 70's when we leave Wisconsin and maybe snow on the ground when we're scheduled to come home. SS:
Sounds like a gas -- have a blast man, wow.
And thanks, he is a tough old Irishman, but he has a long row to hoe -- still sounds real weak to me.
Best,
SJ

Yeah I can relate to a crappy year.
98 got wrecked insurance nearly screwed me 3K parking ticket 2.5K fuck over from my former landlord project car stolen hooked up with a fat chick sister went into surgery to get her gall badder removed 3 of my cousins are in jail and one of those 3 are pregnant (18 years old) grandfather survived a stroke but isn't the same person personality-wise Baught another miata for some reason.
Some great things came out of it too, but it's definitely been rough.

Hondah = R.I.P. That shit suxors, I would hope that his insurance covers it. If your back is really sore, you should ask for compensation. You never no if it will come back to haunt you later in life.

Well, I almost got out alive... My daily driver, the Power Impaler, has leaked a little bit of oil since I got it. It's a Chevy, so I figured since it was over 60K, whatever. We could never find the leak. Recently, the low oil light came on -- it was below the fill on the dip stick. Yeah, I was a bit shocked, as I can put 2,000 miles on this car in one month, so all it does it get oil changes. I filled it back up and hoped for a sending unit. The guy kept saying how bullet proof these 3800 GM motors are and how he'd never seen one like mine -- that needs two new head gaskets. Merry freakin' Christmas to all. Be sure and turn the lights off when you leave as I'm done. $1,500 is their guess. Ah yeah, but I've got my... wait for it, I'll think of it... SJ
