Well, My car will not shift into any gear while running, if i shut the car off, it will go into every gear. If i start the car with it in gear and the clutch pushed in, the car will move......even in reverse. (junk throw out bearing?) Now i had my sister push in the clutch and the slave cylinder pushed the shift fork like its suppose to. The clutch feels normal when i push it in. Well anyways the tranny is getting pull on tuesday and i have 1st and 2nd syncro assemblies comming and 3rd and 4th syncro assemblies and also a new throw out bearing. All comments and suggestions welcome Thanks Brian

Next guess is the clutch disk is warped, and it's dragging. You're running the SPEC 2 right?
b.t.w. I talked to my boss about taking those days off to give you a hand. I won't know for sure if I can get them until Monday.

The help would be awesome greg just call me or pm me whatever you want to do, also i got a tranny jack today. Yeah its a spec 2.. The thing that sucks is that the clutch maybe has 2000miles on it. Time for sleep, 4am comes fast.........lata

I had the exact same problem last year. There are three potential causes:
1) The clutch hydraulic system doesn't throw out the shift fork enough.
2) The flywheel is stepped incorrectly.
3) The clutch is warped or seperated.
You can verify #1 by measuring the throw. #2 is unlikely as it has worked for 2k miles. The cause of my problem was #3. The factory clutch disks started to seperate on my car (with just a couple thousand miles). Therefore the clutch wouldn't disengage. It left wear spots on the pressure plate and on the flywheel.
So you may need a new clutch, a new pressure plate, and a new flywheel (or resurface your existing flywheel).

I'd be shocked if your problem is the throw out bearing, but could be wrong. Ill find out tonight, im gonna pull it out tonight, im sorry greg but i wanna do it before monday incase i need a clutch, this week is the only time i can do this, if the car isnt runnable this week, i cant bring my car to the UMG My cell is 1-920-373-7196 if u have any questions Brian......

3) The clutch is warped or seperated. #1 We know they hydrolic system is not the problem. #2 It's an RPS flywheel with the correct step (used to anyway) #3 There's 3 of us now that think this. On a somewhat related topic, if you order new disks for the flywheel, does RPS step them or will we need to take them in to get stepped? What are the exact measurements?

transfer case bolt is stripped badly, they must had a 3/4in impact on those fuckers, one left and its stripped I had a vise-scrips on that bolt for about 1/2 hour with a 5lb hammer swinging and it wont move at all. its the bottom 17mm bolt about 3in long. Butane torch maybe?? i have no other torches but i can get a butane one. What a pain in the ass!! thanks brian

Try hammering a 5/8ths socket on the bolt head. You might ruin it, but it'll work better than a vice grips. Oh, take a break and oil down your strut and control arm bolts.

The others are lubed up. The bolt is already stripped to hell, the 5/8 socket probably wont even go on but ill try it tommorrow. Think anyone has a bolt laying around or would a hardware store bolt work with the same threads, strength, and length? Thats if they have em that size that is. Time for bed, 4am comes early.... lata

You can get a replacement from a hardware store. Threads will match, head won't - who cares, you just use a different socket for that one...
In addition to what Greg suggested, another option is pound a 12 point socket onto that bolt. It's more efficient using a 12 vs. 6 when trying to remove an fubar bolt. Might ruin it, but who cares as long as bolt comes off. ok ill try that jeff, thanks for the help too Brian
