Just a little clarification: the second number in the tire size (the "40" in 245/40/17), is declaring the sidewall height of the tire, and not the width. I can't be certain that the 275 series tire will fit, as that would actually widen the tire. Just be careful that when changing tire size you know which number represents what characteristic. I believe 265 series tires fit on the stock 17" 1G wheels without rubbing at all, but I thought I heard the 275s rubbed. Also, you should probably run Z rated tires, they're going to hold up to high speed runs with more safety.

I know what all the numbers mean. And the fitment isn't an issue. I actually have 275's on there right now with no rubbing and they actually have almost the same rolling radius as the 245/45's so it works out pretty well. After doing research and lookiing at how other peoples tires fit I im just going with stock tire size and obviously Z rated.
