What kind of BOV are you running?

Do you have it plumbed back to the plastic "y" tube like stock? (after the air filter & maf)
If not, that's your problem.

Route the Type S back into the intake and see if that takes away the problem, it probably will. The air that the BOV is sending into the atmosphere was metered into the system, then lost to the atmosphere. That causes a rich condition (not enough air to match the fuel load), and is probably the leading cause to your car dying. Matt

Or do you have an aftermarket y-pipe. I don't think you can weld the reciever for the type S onto the stock y-pipe. What are your setting on the AFC? I think Greg is trying to say that when you shift you are somehow going way rich, which is choking the engine out. Does the AFC have a setting to run the BOV in open loop, and maybe you have it to that setting when you don't need it to be set that way?(even then it should be pulling fuel, not adding it...) Just guessing... Edit: nevermind, a few posts popped up while I was typing this, and I think the question has been answered 2nd Edit: If it is open now you may be able eo find the setting in the AFC (if it has one) and keep the bov in open loop. closed loop supposedly helps with spool though. I think you should keep it closed loop. your turbos took the time to compress that air. don't just let it whistle out on you...

I live a couple blocks from the Moble filling station at the corner of Main (19) and highway N in that new development. b.t.w. There's nothing you can do to "tune out" this problem.

I had a complete stock set up (minus intake and cat-back) when I first put my Type-S on when I had it and I had the same problem. But it only happened -and still does happen occaisionally- when I disconnected the battery and re-connected it. Then after a few start-and-stops the problem would go away and I didn't have to keep revving at a complete stop to keep it running. I now have the SSQV on an open loop and it does the same thing so I also assume that was the problem. But why is this happening only after I reconnect the battery? And why does it just go away after driving a while?

The problem was always there (running too rich between shifts), it just wasn't as noticable. The ECU can adjust to this a little bit, but when everything is reset, it needs to relearn.
