Any reason why I shouldn't send the people at 3si.org $10 for a membership? Are most of you here members?

What is the benefit in sending them money? Without sending money you can still post and reply to people. In my opinion send money to W3SI hehe

In my opinion send money to W3SI hehe LOL, hey I agree with that too ( http://www.w3si.org/why_donate.htm) but it's up to you. I am not a paid supporter of 3SI, however, I have donated to them twice for server upgrades and am also a regular paid supporter of Team3S ( http://www.team3s.com) and a few other side projects like Bob Forrest's Spec Miata Race Team. You might want to check out supporting http://www.us3s.com as well. It's up to you where and if you donate. Speaking of donations. If you donated to the club in the last 2-3 months and your donation is not on the page, please let me know. I may have lost an entry (I'm thinking possibly Aaron Stoeffler?) during the new website transition. If it wasn't Aaron, it might have been someone else.

I sent them money and it was regretful. Take the ten bucks and buy some brats for the next gathering. Remember, now you own a Twin Turbo, these are the people that will help you work on it. After you get to know some of the guys in the club you'll see that the W3si people will be there for you when you need real help with the car. If not W3si then give it to US3s, they're good people. 3si =Bad. Just my two cents.

Heh, good feedback. Guess I'll save my $10. I really just wanted to change my username there from CommanderCool to MRink, and I saw somewhere that you had to be a paying member to do that. I'm pretty new there, so I guess I can just create a new account without losing much.
I also thought maybe there was a reason to join related to the NGs. (like, you could only attend if you're a 3si member, or the entry fee was way cheaper, or....)

Of course it was me. I donated $500 Actually I did donate another $20 back in July/August. As you can see I'm really not to concerned about it though. However, I do expect that one day when that donations page gets updated (because of a new donation) that you will add mine to it as well. Aaron

JRink: I think Bryan and I should be up on donations for the original site, it was donated...
MRink: I paid 3Si 10 bucks, I'll do it again too. WIthout that site I wouldn't have found some of the killer deals or information that saved me hundreds of dollars on parts and labor... so that alone was worth it to me. If you're newer, maybe its different for you.

I've donated money to both sites. Not sure if I'd donate more than $10 to 3Si in its current state, but back when I joined back in '01, it was an excellent place. Like Brett, I have also saved 100's of $$$ from the info I gained from 3Si as well as the group buys. So I have no problem paying the $10.

In my opinion send money to W3SI hehe Exactly, I used to have 3Si on my paypal subscription, but I canceled it since they would not restore my member number of 0660. Each year I get a new number for no good reason. Alan said he would talk to Eric but nothing came of it. I signed up for the original lifetime membership and it got me nothing. W3SI is a much better place where gatherings and help are plentiful.

I signed up for the original lifetime too, I got my new number but that number can kiss my ass, I'll keep on using my original.

Contrary to popular belief, that site has invaluable information on it about our cars. For all that sight has taught me, $10 seems more than worth all the knowledge. However, I paid sent out a check almost a month ago and there's no record of it. Eric won't reply to my e-mails either. Something else that's kind of annoying though is when people become a paid member, they seem to think they can rule the place.
