It is the original Clutch and it now has almost 80,000 miles on it, so i am not surprised that it is starting to slip. However i do need a new one probably by spring, if i don't beat on her to much. I was thinking maybe a 3sxperformance stage 2 or 3, but i am not sure. Also i was thinking of maybe giong to a fidonza flywheel or RPS flywheel at the same time. any thoughts on these upgrades would be great. One last thing. Would anyone be willing to help me do an install because i think its like almost $800 to have mistubishi do it and if i get a clutch and flywheel that would be like $1600 and i don't really have that much to spend. Thanks.

What mods do you have? Best bet is to get a south bend TZ clutch and have mopar jeff install it. Skill the lightened fly wheel, its only going to make you car a bitch to drive.

The TZ would be a good choice if you don't plan on many mods. If you plan on alot of mods go with a RPS max series street clutch. I wouldn't recommend a 6 pluck they can be difficult to drive it is kind of like an on/off switch for the trans.

http://milwaukeemopar.50megs.com/S3Services.htmJeff and I put a TZ in my car and I love that clutch. Can cut 1.7 60fts without even trying. Would be a good clutch up until you go past DR500 turbos or have those turbos with a ton of mods.

Maybe at the next UMG you can talk a few guys with different clutchs into letting you drive their cars around the parking lot to see what you like and what you don't. I personally can't stand puck (the disk looks like a flower) clutches because of their harsh engagement and short life spans, but you may be okay with it. I like the RPS best, but you may not like the heavy pedal. Another thing: Do you plan racing your car and doing several launchs? If not, maybe another stock (or stage I) clutch would be best for you. That one lasted 80K. Now is definately the time to get a flywheel. At this point in your car's life, the stock one is worn pretty good. If anything, that's what makes an aftermarket one worth the cost.

well, i can get the tz clutch with the flywheel for around 800 shipped, so i think i might just go with that and then talk to mopar jeff about installing them. I gotta do some research first though.

Problem with a lightened fly wheel is it will make you car harder to drive. If you arent good at it, it will actually make your car slower. Whenever Jeff installs a clutch he just makes sure he has a resurfaces flywheel on hand and then he just keeps your old one. So in my opinion, its just not worth the cost especially when you consider the negatives.

People say that, but it's not nearly as bad as they make it out to be. The truth is, you're going to have a harder time adjusting to the new clutch than the lighter flywheel. The biggest draw back is the slight risk of them breaking or getting one that's not balanced properly. If I had some more free time, I'd pull up the sites that explain why resurfacing the FW isn't the best idea (go to 3si and type "step height AND flywheel" in the search field). However, if it boils down to $$, then yes, resurfacing is the least you can do. Don't leave the FW untouched if you're doing a clutch.

Just ordered the TZ today, got it for 450 shipped. 440 4 x 4, i would like it installed as soon as you have time. It should be here in about two days. So I will give you a call once it gets here and hopefully we can set up a time in the nearby future. Thanks for the info.
