Grrr.....fawking car. Got it back from the dealership today. They replaced the transfer case and brake lines under recall. So on my way home I realize that the crack in my windsheild just got bigger. I take a min to look at it and see that the crack spread from the middle to the a piller on the drivers side and the crack streched almost all the way accross to the other side. I was going to have it replaced next week anyways, but it cracked a ton more than it already was. But here is the real problem - the car boosts really wierd. It will be fine at some points and then when it boosts again, it bucks around like a wild horse. I also noticed that my ECS is permanetly in tour mode.

damn. i better go to auto glass specialists ASAP to fix a little crack on the passenger side of my windshield before it spreads like that. i have a SRS light on all the time, but members of 3si told me that it justs does that, but at the same time my SRS light came on, the tour light dissapears and never came back on. my sport light still comes on when i push the tour/sport mode button. unfortunately i dont know what the problem is. did you check out all your hoses and lines?

The crack happened while driving, or while it was at the dealer?
You sure its not plug blowout you're experiencing? What happens when you turn your boost down a little, do you still have the stuttering?
ECS stuck? Are you sure this worked BEFORE going to the dealer?

It cracked at the dealership. There was already a crack but it got a lot bigger at the dealership because they have post lifts there and that puts stress on the car. I'm sure it not blowout, because I've had that before and its much worse this time. I have my copper plugs at .32 and the boost turned down to around 9lbs, so it should be fine. Also, the ecs worked because I was playing around with it just last week.

Also, I know it not blow out because sometimes it will stutter when its starting to build boost around 2k, but then othertimes it will boost just fine.

Do you hear any sort of knocking or clicking when the car stutters? Is it more like a hesitation then comes back, or is it more like quick little cut outs? As for your ECS, this is just speculation, I'm not sure what was all done when the brake lines were replaced, but it could be one of the mechs leaned on the strut cover and damaged the delicate ECS connector.

I think someone leaned on the strut cover and f'd that one up. I also may have figured out the boost problem. The bolt/nut on my MBC are stripped. So I hope its just the nut that is stripped because that is easy enough to replace. Also, if the strut wires where f'd up, wouldnt it flash tour/sport?

Also, it felt just like spark blow out, except a lot worse. Wasnt any noise involved, just a rapid bucking. I'll hook up the pocket logger to it today and see if I get any wierd readings.

Fixed the problems with my hoopty today. The boosting problems was because the threads in my MBC are stipped out so its time to get another one. Also, the ECS is a different matter. I hooked up my pocketlogger to take some readings, as soon as I plugged it in to the diagnostic port....guess what, ECS starts working again.
