Looking for some input from some of you guys running wideband O2 or had experience with it.
I am looking at the following:
http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm My main reason for looking at this is that, first and foremost, I need to buy an EGT gauge. I planned on a Greddy gauge which is going to run me $210 new and TRE probe for $45. TOTAL COST: $255 or so to monitor EGT.
vs. the following for an additional $165....
For $420 total, I can get the Zeitronixs ZT2 bundle and TRE probe, which allows me to monitor wideband O2 and EGT via an in-car LCD display or datalogged on my laptop.
I don't know much about the Zeitronix device, but there's a group buy going on on 3SI for it right now. However, it's supposed to have gotten very good reviews in other communities. The July issue of Import Tuner also rated it as very accurate against 8 other wideband devices.
Concern #1.
My only tuning mechanisms are an adjustable FPR (IPO dual feed kit) and an ARC2. I don't think the ARC2 can change fuel as accutely as other devices like an AFC-II, AEM, or Emanage. I'm wondering if the wideband would be even worthwhile if I can't even make small enough adjustments with my ARC2 and AFPR.
Concern #2.
Digital gauges... Seems to me an analog gauge is better for quick viewing. But OTOH, this device allows logging to a laptop and exporting to a spreadsheet, or viewing via a graph. Not sure which I'd like better...
Concern #3.
Maybe I don't even need a wideband. With my setup (DR500s, DNP Headers, Cam Gears, DR Stage 3 Heads, IPO Dual Feed, Denso 720s, RPS Clutch/RPS Flywheel, ARC2 w/87mm MAF, etc.) I'm not sure a wideband is even necessary. I'm pretty sure I can tune the car sufficiently with just a datalogger, stock O2 sensors, and a regular EGT gauge. And even if I had a wideband, my Concern #1 comes back into play...
So, in a nutshell, I could monitor only EGT for $255, or EGT and Wideband both for $420 or so.
Any input?
