I dont know if its the fuel filter or the fuel pump, or something else. I have a 91 VR4, the car will start right up for a second then die. after i floor it a few times, and then try to start it, then it will run but wants to die. When i get it running it idles really low, low compared to where it usually was at. Idles about at 500 RPM's. Could the fuel filter be bad? the car has 123,000 miles on it. I know its not the plugs, they are pretty new and it ran fine with them in. I have had those in for about 3 months now. Does anyone know where the fuel filter is? Any ideas would be apprecited. thanks

My 2 cents, Could it be a vacum ? Sounds like it's a cold running problem?. The leak could be any were but if your intake is leaking it can make your car idle high or in other situations practicly snub it. It could even be the seals around your injectors. The age of your car and mileage could lead your to look at either of them. Tim

I know that the fuel pumps usually go out when you have a hull tank of gas. I don't know why it does it but all the fuel pumps that I have seen go out happen when the tank is full.

i will check the intake, i dont have a tester, but i could make one. I know one of the hoses has a zip-tie on one of them, thats what the guy before me did. But do u guys think it could be a fuel filter too? I should probably replace that anyways since the car being a 91 and with 123,XXX miles on it. But i dont know where that is, does anyone know?

I don't know if it is in the same locstion for all our cars but the twin turbo models have the fuel filter against the firewall under the battery. Just take the battery and battery tray and washer fluid bottle out and it is right there on the firewall.

You obviously have spark and feul so I doubt it's an issue with that. Are all your mods listed in your signature? When the car is finally running (at idel), is it puffing out a lot of smoke?
Hoses clamped down with zip-ties are good. That way they're not leaking. Every vac hose is ziptied on my car.
I'd first check for vac leaks and make sure every thing is hooked up. Every vac line, every selenoid, then test the electoronics (ECU, feul pump...). Our cars can sometimes run with the MAS unplugged.
You say you recently did the plugs. What did you do with all the vac lines on the throttle body? What about the EGR? Where all the intake manifold gaskets replaced?

You could get the intake fogged at a local shop. Any leak will be found quickly.
