My heater core is leaking, and it starting to smell, i have never in my life done anything like this, so i ask you pros here this....how hard is it to change the heater core in our cars?
does it involve removing the dashboard? cus if it does and screwed, theres no way i can do that....not by myself with my 80 year old back....
the core gets here tomorrow, so i was hoping to get it replaced tomorrow by myself...i hope i can.
thanks

Yes the dash needs to come out. Some work needs to be done under the hood too and the coolant needs to be drained and flushed.

It looks like you've made good progress... Maybe this will help. http://www.daveblack.net/asp/DashRemoval.asp

well i got it done on monday, there was a broken resistor in the housing of the heater core, which i ordered from the dealer and got on monday and the i put everything together again. i also had to take the air condenser out, of which the freon went all in my face when the bolt to the condenser broke lol is fixed tho, just bought another bolt and rethreaded the hole for it. all in all...it was a bitch lol never again will i take the dash apart...no way...to much pain in my back for that
