Well, I have a feeling that my clutch took a shit on me. In any gear, under acceleration, the revs will go up, but my car barely accelerates. It gets into and out of every gear perfectly, I just have no acceleration.
I can't really think of anything else that would cause this type of problem. I've got to be honest, this car is really starting to take it's toll on me. I try and stay positive, but my car can never seem to run without issue for more than a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the help,
Scott

yep+1 on a bad clutch.
n/a's are indeed pretty easy. Realistically I would say a first timer can have it done in about 8 hours. The hardest part IMO is getting the splines on the transmission lined up with the clutch disk and sliding the transmission home.
You could always call Jeff and he can probably do it less than 1/2 that time.
Best, Aaron

Alright, thanks for the help. Also, I will be going FWD TT sometime in the near future. Should I just use another stock NA clutch, or would there be something else more suited to my needs? Agian, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could buy a stock disc and upgrade the pressure plate and still maintain close to stock driveabliity. Maybe some of the other fwd tt guys can chime in about durability of the stock clutch.
While it's apart inspect the flywheel, you may need to have it resurfaced or even replace it.
If you are going TT, I would recommend getting an LSD. The stock diferential does not hold up well to wheel spin. I know this because I have broke 2 stock diffs and witnessed several others on N/A cars. It sucks because a broken diff ruins the transmission case as well.

I'd stick with a full face clutch. I also like Aaron's idea of upgrading the pressure plate.
If something's up with the flywheel too, I'd probably rock a stock one. I got an aluminum flywheel, and other then rev'ing a bit faster, and first gear having a larger tendency of stalling out, it's pretty much the same...
Anywho. I know nothing about LSD's or FWDs, so good luck.

Thanks for the help everybody. From the reading i've done, an lsd is really only useful if you'r planning on launching the car. I'm not planning on launching the car.
The car is never raced, and if it were, it would be from a roll (god damn FWD). So i'm not going to really worry about screwing up my tranny, because there are plenty of people with FWDTT that don't have an lsd. I'll just try and baby the car.

I wouldn't use a stock NA clutch if you plan on going TT. My stock TT clutch slips a little bit and I'm only BPU. Go with a slightly upgraded clutch, nothing crazy like a puck clutch but something a little better. Do that and resurface your flywheel and you should be good. Remember, if it broke it needed to be aftermarket anyways.

DO NOT use stock clutch if you are putting those turbo's on. You'll just end up doing clutch again. SBC makes great clutches for both TT's and NA's.

I'm not giving up on this car. I'm just not. I hope to be able to do the clutch in a couple of weeks. After that, I hope to start on the turbo conversion. It probably won't be until 2010 that I do the AWD conversion, but don't worry, i'm still doing it. If I have time before winter comes, the car will be lowered. If I don't, I'll just do it after winter. To Justin, Brandon, and Preston: I hope we still have our bet going. Because my car will be ready for next year's UMG. I can assure you of that. I think our bet was 10 dollars? Either way, be sure to bring the money.

Also, brandon. Depending on my monetary status, I will be doing the clutch myself. If I have extra money, I'll see if Jeff is interested. Otherwise, I'd like to do it.
