im getting a check engine light at idle but not driving, also from time to time my speedo doesnt move till i hold down the gas like more then half way otheriwse it sits at 0
i think it has something to do with the boost cause it drives fine till the gauge gets up to the zero then start studdering like its over boosting...
help me please ill pay from help i wanna get it running in time for the all mitsu cook out.

you had the ce light before you did this work right?
you could try swapping out your coil pack check timing in case tbelt has slipped check for boost leaks

yeah i did i did a fuel filter to cause it looked original that didnt help either im gonna try the coil packs tom hopefully that works i looked for any bad hoses but they seemed ok didnt see anything noticable.
i dont think its the timing cause i replaced the computer and mass air and it ran good for a week now its doing the same thing as before.

Start backing up and check everything, and do things one at time from now on.
Greg? Jeff? Matt? Fry? Bueller?

well when i reaplaced the mas air and the computer i just tried the mass air still ran bad so i put the computer in and it ran good for a week started acting up so i tried a different mass air didnt work so moved onto the plugs and wires drove it nothing....the did fuel filter still nothing....now today coil pack and still got nothing....this thing is really confusing me
does anyone have a pig tail to read the engine code? i have the machine at my job but off course all the pigtails but the one i need.
if someone can take a look at it and help me with it or has a computer i could try to see if i got a bad computer i can drive it to anyones house it drives i just can give it gas...im gonna try to disconnect the boost controller and hook it back up to stock....i ordered some egr block off plates so i plan on doing the vaccum down grade so less chance off boost leak somewhere...

I believe you can check engine codes with a multimeter. I think there are instructions on how to do this on stealth316.

I'd like more details on your symptoms. You said it runs bad. Does it run bad a full boost, partial thottle, idle? Is it hesitating, stumpling?
It kind of sounds like a bad O2 sensor, but we need more info.
later, Curt

well ok this just rattles my head more.... i drove it to big bend from milwaukee and after about 5 min on the freeway it ran great even after i got off but then when i left and started it back up ran like crap again...
curt---its kinda hard to explain....at times it wont do it full throttle and run good but at times at full at about 2700 rpms it just boggs all the problems are most noted at about that rpm just partial throttle. it will bogg and shudder and at times i have noticed hesitation. and today i drove to saturn in greenfield same thing happend fine on the freeway if i drive it hard after its good but when you baby it is when it doesnt wanna go past 2,700 rpms it starts jumping and shaking like the whole car just jerks back and forth...sorry if im not explaining it to well...

blazing red dragon wrote: but would that toss a check enigne light on? I'm not sure if a boost leak could cause a check engine light. But your issue sounds like a boost leak or a bad o2 sensor. I think you should bite the bullet and have a dealer read the code for you. Might save some future agony. later, Curt

negative, a boost leak will not throw a check engine light. a bad O2 sensor will. Read the code, and know for sure. If you dont want to take it to the dealership, just talk to some of the guys at auto zone. While they cant read the codes for you anymore, they do "forget that they left the code reader on the counter."
