Well the time has come that I need a new clutch on the 93 VR4. The current clutch has about 60K on it and I can tell it needs to be replaced. So now I need to start putting a list together on what I will need.
I don

You know, people think they need a step up from stock when it comes to clutches, but what they don't realize is the clutch disk on most full face aftermarket clutches use the same/similar clutch disk as stock, just with a heavier pressure plate...

Greg,
How did your insurance work out on the VR4? Hopefully they were fair with you.
Anyway as far as the clutch should I just go stock on the clutch disk and pressure plate? I also will need a throw out bearing. What else do I need and where is the best place to start looking?
Is there anyone out there making the syncos yet? I figure it would also be a good time for 2 & 3 syncros if available. I would like to just get as much possible done while its torn apart.
Kyle

Insurance completely and totally fucked me. They're not giving me a dime. Been in contact with lawyers to see what my options are. TOB you can get from any dealer that gives us our discount. Little secrete i found out and will probably be shot if I shared. The Supra turbo 3-4th gear synchros are the EXACT same piece as out 1-2 synchro.

What insurance company do you have? I'm about to switch companies and don't want to get screwed. Do you have Farmers????
I was mentioning to the agent I'm working with about you getting hit and everyone in our group kind of knew you would get screwed on the retail price of the car. I didn't think you wouldn't get anything. The agent told me that because your car is rare and you have proof that it was being sold in a week you had good grounds to stand on for getting paid a fair price for the car.
What is their excuse for not paying out on your car? You weren't at fault either.
Kyle

The way the cop worded the accident report made me sound like I was 50% at fault. The exact wording was, "careless driving". Now PA is funny cuz it's a "no fault" state meaning you get NOTHING if you're found to be 50 or more at fault.
In this case, the insurance co didn't want to pay out for my car so they decided to play the 50/50 fault game. Now, explain to me how someone with no license and HIT ME cuz they weren't paying attention makes me 50% at fault?
We'll see what happens after I speak with the lawyers...
