Loose connector or the sensor is bad.
Your car is the 6th car I've heard this happen to. I guess they just die with age.
What type of coolant do you use?

check your windshield wiper fluid. The light for the wiper fluid looks like it should be a coolant light. I've been confused by it a couple times as well.

It its a box with a broken line on the top...its just the windshield washer fluid and 9 times out of 10 its the one in the trunk that sets it off, so make sure you fill the back one.

Make sure your coolant is topped off. Even if its just a hair low, it will trip off the sensor. There is a sensor in the overflow bottle, so make sure that is on the full line too. And for anyone else who is confused about the coolant and winshield fluid lights on the dash, here is what it looks like: Happy motoring! Curt

I had the same problem with my car. I thought it was the alternator light!
