All day Wednesday, Thursday, and a few hours on Friday i was working on my car non stop. This was the first time i actually assembled a motor(cept the shortblock). Just took my time to make sure i did things right, cept for the fact i did a few things before i should have, so i had to take other parts off here and there. It seemed to go have way decent, ran into a few problems here and there but figured them out. The only issue i wasn't able to take care of was an exhaust leak from the downpipe to the cat.
So Friday around 4pm, i started it up. I could have sworn it sounded like rod knock, again. I let the car get to normal running temps and it still had that sound. Everytime i reved it up, the sound got faster with the RPMs. Took the timing covers off to make sure the marks lined up on the cam gears, and they did. Just as i was able to take the oil pan off, my friend called and told me that him and 2 of his other friends were going to stop by(all 3 have been into the DSM scene for over 6 years each). So i just waited till they got over, then started the car up again. The noise was gone and it ran good, cept for that exhaust leak. I honestly never thought that that would of happened. Then we fixed another issue i had(my rotors weren't on right), and it ran / drove great. Just the clutch pedal was scaring me a little bit since i was extremly soft. After taking it around the block, it slowly stiffened up and was working better.
For those that don't know what i all replaced, here it is. -used shortblock -oil pump -water pump -3SX aluminum crank pulley with gatorback belts -Spec stage 2 clutch -Fidanza flywheel -solid motor mounts -all the gaskets i need

Glad to hear your car is back on the road again.
Nothing from Hans on your shortblock?

Nice work!
N/A fury rules!!!
Bleeding the slave cylinder might help, or you might just need a new one. I think they are about $40.
Take it easy, Aaron

Glad to hear you have a car again!
Your noise might have been the lifters - if you didn't prime them they were probably "talking" until air was out...
