Sunday there was the 30th annual Fathers Day car Show in a town an hour from here. Saturday I washed, clay barred and then washed the car again. Then two coats of Meguires NXT wax and one coat of carnauba wax. Wow, did the car shine. I detailed the interior and also under the hood. The car sure looks nice with the polished intake, front valve cover and Y-Pipe. I printed info on the car on a 8

I guess it pays to buy a car from and old guy. This car was owned by a guy in his 50's for most of its life. He pretty much babied it and had all the work done on it by a dealership. He did keep all his receipts so that was good and I can see that over the years he spent a lot of money on the car for maintenance and other things. Eventually I guess he was tired of putting $$$ into it and his wife was begging him to sell it. My firiend who is a salesman for the yellow pages was at the right place at the right time. He had seen the car parked in the guys yard for a long time. Then one day there was a for sale sign on it. He was the first one to stop and talked the guy down to $6500 (105K miles) and bought it on the spot. So it was a great car and great price. I bought the car from my friend the next spring because he wanted to buy a used BMW M3 convertible.
The only real problem is the old guy drove it one winter and now the chrome on the rims is slowly starting to flake off. My plan is to put 18 rims on next year if there is $$ in the budget.

Well I put the car in another local car show and won another trophy. I guess it pays off that there are not many foreign cars in this area. No one around here has seen a VR4 before. As soon as I pulled in a bunch of people had to check it out right away. I guess they are used to the usual cars and something a bit different grabs their attention. Like I mentioned in the general chat someone approached me with info on a 92 VR4 for sale in my area. When I get more info I will let you know.
