Was really hoping to make the NG this year but... looks like my tranny is hosed. Some of you may remember I had a difficult time shifting while giving a few rides at Eric's the other night and it just got worse at the track on Sunday.
Wondering if anyone has a 5 speed AWD 18 spline tranny (IN COMPLETE WORKING ORDER) laying around they want to part with??
For what it's worth, it seems like it went bad because my shift linkage wasn't allowed to come forward enough as a result of bashing against my intercooler piping. While the car went into gear (2nd, 4th, reverse), it may not have been FULLY going into gear (even after I adjusted the linkage yesterday to allow 2nd gear to fully engage, reverse gear still causes the linkage arm to contact the intercooler piping). The basic thought is that I quote possibly wore down some teeth on the slider ring or teeth on the 1/2 synchro since it may not have been fully engaged and it's been getting worse and worse over the last couple of weeks. The tranny is making a noticable amount of whining as well (Jeff heard it today... wasn't pretty).
So... if anyone has one.. or knows of someone who does... please get in touch with me. Much appreciated.
Regards JR
