well most of you already know that my car is in dire need of the 60 k. Now, I realize that the water pump is part of the whole job, but I'm having a hard time getting it to the place to be serviced. I'm planning on taking it to Milwaukee Mopar Motorsports. Once I get the ICS and battary in it'll run, but my water pump is so bad that I dobut it would make it to Milwaukee without having to stop a half a dozen times to fill it back up. Anyways, I was going to tow it but my front end makes it close to impossible to get it on a flatbed so my other option is to tow it with one of those uhall things that only picks up the front two tires (can someone help me out with what it's called here?) LOL. My next problem is finding a truck to tow it. My dad has an old el camino (I say old because I'm not quite sure it could tow it).
So back to the point, How hard would it be to replace the waterpump on my own? Would it be too much to figure out or would it be worth a shot?
Thanks.

To do the waterpump you are basically doing the 60K service because you have to remove everything in the 60K do get to the waterpump. Sounds like you need a few people to show up for a gathering at your place so they can tear it apart and do the 60K service. This would mean supplying beer! Lots of it too!!!
Other option is to find someone with a truck to tow your car to Milwaukee to have it done. So is there anyone close to Janesville that can help Jesse tow her car to Milwaukee? I'm way too far away to help (U.P of Michigan). If I was closer I could tow it with my Expedition.
Kyle

Thanks guys! I figured I'd be too much to do myself. I'm totally game for a gathering at my house so if your interested... I'll supply LOTS of beer!

a good flat bed operator should be able to load a car fine.
Or if you get a trailer there are tricks you can do also. back up to the front of a driveway, jack up the tounge of the trailer, use boards to extend the ramps.
The water pump isn't that bad, it's that you have to yank everything else out to get to it.
Also, the 60k is not cheap, even for a do it yourselfer.
There are alot of parts that go along with it. and if you don't change them all you'll be sorry later... so look up the whole list.
you'll also need tools. or someone with have to bring them all. there are some odd ball tools like the tensioner... or sometimes funky gasket scrappers to get to hard to reach surfaces... so list what you have or what you need everyone to bring.
and list out the parts so that you're/we're sure you have everything to make it a one shot deal.

My buddy's 3g Eclipse has a good 2 inch drop to it. I can still load it on my car trailer by jacking the front of the trailer as high as it will go. Just about any car can be loaded with enough tricks of the trade applied. I'd say get it towed to Milwaukee or get someone closer over to do the 60k with water pump done. later, Curt

Many lowered cars have arrived here on a flatbed. Just need some boards to extend off the ramp, and a patient driver.
For whatever it's worth (possibly nothing...) drinking beer and doing timing belt may not be the best idea in the world. Drinking beer after finishing is a great idea. Not really something you want messed up.

Greg did my 60K all while having a beer in his hand or near by at all times. I assume he might have also had a bit of a hang over from the previous night. He did an awesome job!!! I guess it depends on the individual and how much practice he has had working on cars while holding a beer at the same time.
Kyle
P.S. Plus he had no spillage of the beer!

P.S. Plus he had no spillage of the beer! Greg and I changed my water pump, T-belt, and both turbos, while intoxicated in my parents garage "back in the day"... I remember my mother being all worried about it... Beer + precision parts is not the best idea... but we did take about 2 weeks to do it, and checked our work in the sober moments... taco bell. heh.

Hello,
I'd have time to help you with this pretty much anytime you are ready. Does your father by any chance have an air compressor at your house - I'd consider coming there to help you out so you can use it this summer.
