So I got the motor back in after pulling it for a second time. ( I had left a piece of the oil pump gasket still on the block ) no idea how I missed that. THen I snapped the bolt on that side, and then managed to snap the tap. So I pulled the motor, pulled the pump off, found the extra gasket, ordered a new one and attempted to clean out the hole. I cleaned it out and got it so I could hand tighten the bolt ( not very well.. but figured with all the other bolts and some pressure on that bolt it should seal fine )
I was wrong. It still drips.... I locktited the bolt, but it is only barely past hand tight. I figured with the flat surface it wouldn't matter, but everything is back together and I don't have the energy anymore to take it apart again and fix it. I RTV'ed around the edge of the pump to see if that will slow the leak down. ( Watch video for leak )
With my move to madison here in the next 2 days, I'm out of time to work on the car. Nothing has been cooperating. Even the rear coilover on the right side has seized and I cannot adjust it to raise the rear like I need to. It will not spin around to adjust. Go figure....
I've got over 2k into parts on this little "preventative maintenance" between the lS1/MAFT, FMIC, Spec Stage III+, Gaskets, Timing Kit, Oil pump, etc..... and a car that will not run reliable because it is leaking oil still. At least it isn't pouring out like it was before, but it is still an issue, and I don't know if anyone is capable of repairing the hole with the oil pump on. ( IE: Helicoil or drilling all the way through the notch on the back of the block that the bolt goes into, and putting a longer bolt in there with a nut on the backside to tighten the pump against the block. That is the best bet I'm guessing ) I will have to trailer the car to wisconsin, and have jeff work on it, or one of my friends in granger and leave it there....
Either way, I'm worn out, I'm tired, I'm beat. I took this entire week to work on getting the motor out, fixed, and back in ( Which I rushed, and didn't do it right, you'd think I'd learn my lesson... The pump felt tight against the block. )
pics, movie....

Everything I touch lately becomes a disaster, and I couldn't have screwed this up any worse....It sucks because it's all because I missed a small piece of gasket.... if I had just seen it, I wouldn't be here today, the car would be running and I'd be a very happy person because I'd have my VR-4, but instead I've ruined it, and all these new parts are worthless, and I will have to pay a fortune to have someone fix it...
I'll be lucky to even take it to the NG... It's frustrating..... I couldn't be more mad at myself.
