Just want to thank Johnny H. and his kids for stopping by today and making the afternoon fun. Hell, even the dog is wore out.
I changed out the rubber mouldings around the windows and we ended up shooting the breeze, talking fiberglas and then paint ball 101 with another baller from down the street.
One thing I wanted to mention is that I was alarmed by what I found underneath the flat areas on either end of both the rubber mouldings; rust.
In most cases, it cleaned off just fine, with lots of Jacques Debris, but on the passenger side rear, I had a small bump, which I scraped and painted over. If you have an older car, or one that sees a lot of weather, you may want to pull these flat ends up and clean under there. Be careful when you do so that when you pull the pin(s) or fastner(s) out, you don't snap it off. I'm betting you can only get these with the whole rubber piece.
In addition, at some point, the newer gen's must have two fasteners or pins at the rear or by the door handles. Neither Johnny's nor my car had these ('94 and '92 respectively). I simply drilled a couple new holes for them to plug in to and fit right.
Best,
SJ
