actually sometimes it doesn't come on when i start the car, but as soon as i start driving it comes on.

There's a procedure in the manual where you can ground a pin in the diagnostic port and it will throw the code for whatever tripped the light.
My guess is probably just a low voltage warning to which you need someone with the mitsu diagnostic tool to reset. No you just can't simply unplug the battery and have it reset.

You'll have to go to the dealer to get the SRS light reset. Unless you own one of those $1000 MUT scan tools.  I have that light on for my Stealth. The dealership offered to reset it for free if I swing by sometime when they aren't busy. I still haven't gotten over there after 1.5 years of having that offer. One of these days... later, Curt
