Mechanical you run a tube full of oil to the back of the gauge.
Electrical you have a remote mounted sensor (typically mounted in the engine bay, or on the engine) and then a few wires running to the back of the gauge.
Just for the reason of "if the line breaks you have hot oil spewing on the inside cabin of your car" I prefer electrical.
the cost difference is also pretty large, if I recall correctly.

I liked the gauges in your car . What type did you use. They are white faced if I am correct?

My gauges are 52 mm greddy electronic gauges.
the oil pressure sender screwed perfectly into the stock oil pressure sender location (the one that looks like a hockey puck) so that worked out pretty well.
you could sub out the 60mm guages and press them in, instead of recessing it to make it look stock like I did. they would both work.
