Went to the Great Lakes Dragaway on Tuesday. Some rather disapointing results. History of the car: 231k on the car 5k on the new mitsu short block Walboro fuel pump Blitz DSBC set to around .9 bar peak Solid motor mounts Stillen DP Have the stock injectors in right now HKS SAFR set to 2% lean from 800-3500rpms Previous worst time ever with almost near stock setup was 13.7 at 103 mph (1.89 60ft). The last time I ran it I hardly had to try to get it in the 13.5-13.7 range. Here is run 1 Took it easy on the launch and knew I was going to bog it. Made the run with the MAFT kit in. Settings were 8,2,F,F (so basicly set up to at no correction and one click lean on the mid and wot). However, the run shows it was insanely rich up top. The knock really baffles me... Here is the datalog from it Here is run 2 Put the stock MAF back in. Launched it really hard and got a little squirly and didnt feel like biffing the wall so back out a touch before I got back on it. Here is the datalog I've also included the more detailed csv files below. I really dont know what the deal is. Take a look over everything and let me know what you think. http://www.loosefigures.com/car/GLD/run1csv.csvhttp://www.loosefigures.com/car/GLD/run2csv.csvIf you want to view the original PL View Files, you can get the viewer here http://www.loosefigures.com/car/GLD/PlViewer.jarFiles to view Run 1: http://www.loosefigures.com/car/GLD/11_ ... -_GFMS.PDBRun 2: http://www.loosefigures.com/car/GLD/11_ ... -_GFMS.PDBSo do you think this knock is real or false? It seems like its the same thing Jesse had at the track when he had more of a stock setup. Come to think of it, Jesse blamed that one on his driveshaft and I have Jesse's old driveshaft on my car...hmmmm. Care to chime in on this one?

eh, that second run still beat me with DR500s. I think that looks like real knock man. Just from the way it comes on later in the RPM band... I suppose it could be carrier bearings in the driveshaft are looser than my girlfriend, but who knows...

I've still got 35 gallons of 100 octane.
we could dump some in, go beat on it, and if the knock goes away, we know for sure...

I think there is some place locally that sells 100 out of the pump. Funny thing is, it hardly ever knocks when I go WOT on the street. Seems to happen only at the track. Happened the last time at the track when i was running 13.5-13.7s and that was with the old motor, but same knock. Either that or its something messed up with wiring somewhere. Remember there is 230k on my car so who knows how jacked up the harness is. Makes me want to push the car over a short bridge

Going to put some 100 octane in it tonight and see what happens. If it doesnt fix it, I'll be buying a PST 1 piece driveshaft in the next few weeks.

Check your ignition timing with a timing light.

That would explain the knock durring a launch, but NOT on the 2nd run in 3rd gear.
After installing one in my new car, I can honestly say a CFDS is NOT WORTH THE $$$!! The performance gain you get is very slim (but noticable). I have the 1 piece installed, and it makes an anoying wurring noise at high speeds (75mph and up) too. I might reinstall the stock one and sell it.
Just buy new carrier bearings and replace them on your current driveshaft. Much cheeper and takes only a few hours. You just need to make sure you put everything back together in the same orientation as you removed it. The driveshaft is ballanced a certain way and needs to be reassembled the same way it came appart. Give me a call and I can walk you thru it.

I've never heard anyone say that a CFDS was worth the $900-1000 you pay for them. I do enjoy mine thoroughly though. You got powned!!! I've never had any problem with mine to 120mph.
