Okay, I'm thinking about taking this off to TRY it. I like the way it looks removed, but question whether this means I'll ned to carry a squeegee (sp?) to get the dew and/or initial heavy rain off the rear window before I get going (RainX seems to work really well over 45mph).

So how hard is it to simply take it off? At the NG last year, I saw where Brian simply removed his (and his washer sprayers off the hood!:shock: )), filled and painted it and it looked great. I also see where Jess is doing the same thing, but I'm cautious here, so let's simply remove it and try it for a while.

Please advise ASAP. It's not bloody snowing today!

So, you flip the cap up that covers the top half of what I'll call the mount, and unscrew the bolt.

If you need pictures, I can provide them -- easy as cake.

Looks a lot sleeker without it, now we'll see if I miss it.

What are you using to cover/conceal the hole? I've been thinking about doing this as well for the massive weight savings. The fact that I've used the rear wiper almost 4 times is a consideration as well I suppose.

For now, I just pulled the arm only to see if I like it and/or miss it. So the motor mount is still sticking up. I simply wrapped it with black electrical tape for now. Some brain surgeon asked me what kind of antenna it was... I told him to get back in his hon-duh and peddle away.



And it is massive.



Indeed. It just rots in the hot sun and yet another thing to fade.

The jury is still out for now...

If I decide I'm going to yank it, it will take a body shop to fill and paint it. I need that gray area back there repainted anyway (and I'm *looking* at the idea of '99 sail panels as well), so I figure why not. May just repaint that gray area the color of the car, not sure I care for it or will miss it either.
