After getting done with the brakes I turn on my car and let it warm up and stuff sense I haven't ran it for a couple of days. So I turn it on... I'm listening to music inside. Then all of a sudden it stops the warm up mode it's about the regular time when it goes to normal idle but this time it drops down and dies then comes back up for a while then dies totally... okay nothing big just restart it happened before to me... I start it, it goes right back down... okay try again same thing... So I start it and give her some gas just fine let off the gas dies.... so i dont' know if I've somehow blown a fuse or maybe it's the plug wires or even the spark plugs or maybe the timing... After this I am going to take a look at the fuses and look for one. I have a shitload of homework to do so I will be off and on if somebody want's to P.M. or just respond here... oh also I just noticed the check engine light on just as it got out of warm up mode.... then it died...
Let me know what you guys think.

Let me know what you guys think. CE light came on after the car died or before? If it came on before, then the problem is whatever the CE light is for... Do you have access to a 1G datalogger?

I noticed the check engine light on before it died. I do not have access to a 1G datalogger. I just started it up again same thing but too a lesser degree it idles fine in warm-up mode so i drove it to the end of my driveway and drove it back and got it out of warm-up mode so now it's at it's regular idle of 400 rpm i'm guessing or around there? There it has some problems I noticed if I hold the gas at 1500 RPM and slowly go down it'll stay at the last tick mark before it reaches 0 but I'm holding down the gas just a little bit the second I let off goes down a little bit then dies.... So i'm thinking it could be my battery not being able to power the spark plugs and basic things to run the car even if I have EVERYTHING off becuase it runs like normal when you push the pedal. But that still doesn't explain the check engine light... my car has 150,3xx miles on it and my dad and I just replaced the valve gaskets made extra careful that nothing fell in the lower intake by covering it with some shop towels and put everything back together as it should. Didn't know the torque settings for the intake plenum so we torqued them to 25 ft. lbs (hope it's not too little or too much) and I can't describe it much better than that...

I disagree. I think it might just be a dead idle control motor. Do you have a volt meter? Follow the instructions on this site for testing it. http://www.stealth316.com/2-isc-iac.htmI've gotten away with testing it while it's attached to the motor (although it's uncomfortable). If it checks out, I think you'll need to purchase a logger, or find someone who will loan you one. I've been meaning to purchase the software and cable (to go along with my hybrid logger), but $$ is too tight for me right now. ...in fact, if there is any possible way you could make it down here to my place in Madison, there'll be a guy here with a 1G logger on Saturday.

I've read that whole page and It's full of information that I can actually understand now. I'll check into getting a hole of a datalogger. Now 1G does that stand for 1st generation for 91-93 3KGT/Stealth? But if it doesn't then how interchangeable are they? I'll get around to testing my ISC maybe this weekend, possibly on saturday... I do need to get a new battery anyways So hopefully I can do that this weekend. Well if my ISC is clogged up a little bit from carbon build-up then that would explain how it does the "Warm-up" mode just fine but when it switches to the normal idle mode it dies. So hopefully all it needs is a good cleaning becuase I dont' have $250 for a new one and i don't really want to go with a rebuilt one but if i have to I will... but if the test results are negative then I'd have to buy a new one or a rebuilt one right? Wink I have to work both Friday and Saturday at 4:30. So that won't be possible (I live in northwest WI) But thank you for your genorosity.

How far are you from Rhinelander? I might be going up there this weekend and could possibly take a look at it. I'll know more after tonight. If not I'm to try talking Greg into some tuning on Sat if he is not busy.

Can you make it down here? I'm having a little tuning session at my place Saturday.
Drill out busted off EGR bolt & coil install on my car. Tune/troubleshoot ccrunners car. E-manage install on Aaron's car. Talk Aaron into selling me his e-manage because he needs $$ for house.
I think there's one more guy showing up, but he hasn't confirmed plans.

As far as I know, the ISC is the same for all year cars. I think they changed the brown covering to black somewhere down the line but that's all...

I picked up some sea-foam, then I heard sea-foam kinda dries your o-rings out so what I did was I took some WD-40 and sprayed a little bit in the throttle body with the butterfly closed so it will pass through the ISC and then thru the plenum to help loosen some carbon build-up on the ISC (It's in warm-up mode so it stays at 1500 RPM's) then it gradually goes down I then can actually get a very, very rough idle at about 300 rpm's or just below the last tick mark on the Tach (becuase my dad and I switched places every now and then too see what was up) Then I find a vacuum leading into the throttle body on the top so I fill up a cap with sea-foam and then suck it little by little up and still rough idle... hmmm.... At that moment I just remembered something.... I never had the MAS plugged in to the thing right before the air box.... (From when i did the valve cover gaskets, thought I missed something...) So that would explain the check engine light then eh? so i plug it in and attach it start it up again... Wow white smoke comes pouring out the exhaust! made the neighbors nice and happy as they were walking Then it idles just above the final tick mark on the tach. And i finish putting in the 1/3 can and then i let it idle too get all the smoke out and now it runs just like it did if not better! So thank you everybody for telling me all about this and what it could be and I still don't know what i'd do if I didn't have you guys'. Woody.... P.S. I will definetley order a repair manual very soon... Any ideas on the best kind/place to get them at?
