Okay my car has been nothing but mothafucka since day 1. But I still love her, so it's okay.
On our journeys together I have yet to race the thing healthy, and we kept plugging away at possible solutions to fix her up. Last night I raced again, raced what I thought was a healthy Sandy, and she spit it back in my face. More high times at low traps.
Today was the final straw, I got a autometer from a buddy and hooked up the gauge, and went for a test drive.
Got on her, boom 12psi yay going good going good hit 5000RPM BOOM PSI drops to 6psi and she gets mad, keep on pressing her and we hit 6000RPM and BOOM PSI jumps back up to 12 right before I shift.
Does this in 2nd and 3rd.
Now, 6psi is wastegate pressure, so is it a faulty wastegate? Or something more serious. I have no idea, thus I question you all.
Also, after about 10 minutes of our session, I come back home to find my coolant bubbling like crazy. Now I know our cars run hot, but THIS hot after such little time? Granted I was smacking her around but still...
How accurate is the stock temperature gauge? It never really fluctuates, so is that one of the bad gauges too?
Arrr.

LOL... The stock temp gauge is crap. I've seen temps as high as 210 degrees on the logger and the needle still pointed to normal. Time to check the timing and TPS calibration.

This is why i prefere to just pretend my 92 vr4 car can do 13 second runs. Why actually race it. lol
Well, sorry to hear about your troubles man, I'm sure my car wouldn't do much better.
Have you let anyone else take it for a run down the track?

b.t.w. Do you hear a click just as the boost drops? Next time, take a glance at the stock boost gauge. It's a good indication as to how close to "boost cut" you're at. There is a boost cut defence similar to fuel cut where the ECU will drop the boost if the 02's get lean enough. (hint: get a logger )
