I'm not sure if anyone on here would know anything about this but I figured I'd post anyway to get some ideas. My car has this mysterious battery draining problem lately. I can jump the car and it'll run (usually) after that and I can even shut it down and start it back up as long as I do it immediately after shutting it off.... but there was one time where I was in the taco bell drive thru and my car started clicking and died and after that I had absolutely no power and could not restart it. It was like a complete battery drain in a matter of seconds. I borrowed vetting's optima battery to see if it was a battery problem and his bad was strong for 2 days but on the 3rd day it was completely dead. I probably drove the car a total of 2 or 3 miles with his battery in and the voltage was always higher after I drove the car than before I drove it. (example: 11.84V before 12.20 after). My guess is there's a short somewhere but I'm at a loss on where to look... also is it possible that the alternator would cause this kind of behavior?
Sincerely,
Rob R.
