5th new tranny in that truck.
It's made of glass and pussies.
even more so than our getrash transfer cases.
Still not worried about the race. just worried about my neighbors complaining of me starting a car lot.

Talked to the coating guy today.
exhaust should be back in my grubby hands friday or latest monday.
intercooler piping he's putting on some experimental insulation on that is suppose to reflect 500* of heat, and keep the intercooled air nice and frosty, even as it shoots over the turbo...
I'm not sure if I quite believe that, but he promised me 5 to 10 horsepower (but said it may be more!!!), and was quite adamant about it, so whatever.
Intercooler piping will take an extra week!
This guy is really out there. but seems to really know his stuff. he took a peice of aluminum that he coated and hit it with a hammer... the coating did not come off, flake or anything! It's wild stuff.

I was not planning on attending the NG this year.
If I can get the car done, and the cash scraped together (and the time off from work ) I wanted to try and make the Vegas gathering. drags, car show, and dyno. and vegas. seems like a lot of fun, so we'll see.

Just confirmed.
I'll have the exhaust manifolds, cross overpipe, collector, and turbo exhaust housing back for friday night.
The car will start going back together this weekend.

I've got the car back together, minus a few things that still need to be worked out. 1) no room for fans. I'm going to re-clock the turbo, dremmel out the rubber grommets, and move the radiator 1/2" forward, and that should give me enough room to get one, maybe two fans in. 2) EGT Probe doesn't screw in. I bought a TRD (I think) probe from a DSM site. they first forgot to send me the bung, and now I think it may be the wrong size. The rear manifold will be coming BACK off the car to get it in. I'll re-tap the bung. not a huge deal, but it really pisses me off. 3) second 02 sensor doesn't want to thread in. The rear O2 hits one of the front primaries. I'll have to drop the down pipe and screw it in before I hook up the down pipe. really not worried, as that is a temporary problem, just so I can run it around on the emanage to make sure everything runs before I drop the AEM and only need 1 wideband. then I'll have to plug the hole. 4) Wastegate and turbo bolts trying to use the same airspace. The 38 mm tial wastegate has a threaded side that I may have to drill out and through a nut an bolt through instead of just trying to use a bolt and the threaded portion in the wastegate... (I can get 3 out of 4 bolts on...) 5) Turbo Oil Return. WTF. W...T...F... I have no idea on this one. there is NO way to get the oil to run down hill all the way to the oil pan... oh, and niether me or my cousin saw that the front collector comes down RIGHT in front of the outlet on the pan... I don't know how we missed that... with a 3/8" by -10 an 90 elbow and then another -10 an by stainless hose 90 elbow I may be able to get around it, but that still doesn't leave much hope for the constant slope back to the pan. SOOOoooOOOoooo... how much slope does the oil return need. I think I can get it there with an "almost" level drain... Or, maybe a tank under the turbo with a small electric pump? I don't know boys and girls... any ideas, toss them out. I'm all ears... Link to pictures. all the pipes in but the airfilter to turbo pipe. Also, one showing the underside with the 3" downpipe, and the cross overs. http://www.us3s.org/freeforum/showthrea ... ge=9&pp=15Oh, and one to show my intercooler, front intercooler pipes, and my faggy-faggy-queer lights that so far have made it through this conversion.

I recall talking about this to you once before... Maybe I should show you pics. ttangel wrote: 3) second 02 sensor doesn't want to thread in. The rear O2 hits one of the front primaries. A) Who cares if it's not hooked up... Tune around it and ignore the CE light. Doesn't seem worth the hassle. B) Get a WB with analog output. There are a couple of these out now. You can actually use these to substitute the stockers. ttangel wrote: 5) Turbo Oil Return. WTF. W...T...F... Drill another hole somewhere lower in the pan. Maybe a little lower and to the right (closer to the drain plug) There's a good 1.5" before you reach the oil pump pickup "area".
