Quote: Brett practicing his bolt tightening skills. agree, i think he has the world record for the number of times turning one bolt. Hey Brett, "that sure is a lot of work just to change some spark plugs" Don't forget about the coolest table ever made. Great time with all you guys.

You asshats.
those that didnt stick around for my downpipe adventure today sure missed out on some classic "wtf is bert doing now" moments. I was literally covered in rust/grime, and i'm wiped now. However the car is driving better, still a little boost leak that Adam and I will take care of once we recooperate from this weekend.
A HUGE thankyou to Adam for his tools/patience/food/garage/and general other crazy crap this weekend. Everyone else that helped out, or pointed out what I was doing wrong, THANK YOU! This was a weekend of learning and I soaked in alot of info.
Looking forward to the rural cruise!
Once again, thanks all! (pics coming)

Man, what did we all get done over the weekend?
DSBC & vac reduction on Mike's car. E-manage install and tune on Matt's car. Sparkplug change, boost test, and stillen DP install on Brett's car. Boost test and drivers innercooler repair on my car. Diagnosed a bad dimmer switch on Bryan's car. Found out the crank sensor wire is rubbing on the AC belt in Adam's car. Consumed enough beer to fill 2 recycle bins.
...I know I'm forgeting stuff.

Did a plug change on Bryan's car after you left.....NA POWER! Oh I was doing some thinking about the DSBC set up. Couldnt I have the vac line from the back of the unit going to the back of the plenum (just t it in with my boost gauge?)

You can put that vac line anywhere there is a boost/vac signal (i.e. after the throttle body). I like to use the TB nipples instead of capping them whenever possible because caps seem to have a tendancy to blow off. Also, disregaurd my drunken speach about the vac reading on the gauge. It is accurate because the gauge on the controler is going off the connector at the TB NOT the tap on the y-pipe. My brain was not functioning this weekend.

I think that line that we hooked it to - i think it was the middle one - draws a air signal from before the throttle plate. Reason being is that the DSBC with light throttle shows vac, under heavy throttle shows boost, but at no throttle it reads 0 because the plate is closed.

Makes sence. It was probably designed that way on purpose to keep the EGR valve closed during idel.
I have it set this way on my car, and I've never noticed because the boost controler is mounted under the dash.

yeah, thanks for showing up and participating in the "unofficial" gathering guys.
had a blast.
Brett, I still have rust in my eyes. I hate your down pipe. I thought I hated mine, but it turns out I just dislike it greatly.
Greg, we did not find out that the crank wire sensor was rubbing on the AC belt, I've known about that for a while now. We forgot to tie strap it down in St. Loius when I was down there, I've taken it to work a few times, I know the clip has been broken for a while now.
I just haven't had time to fix it, and it's got over 900 miles on the car with it that way.
Matt welded your intercooler, not Mike.
My car never got worked on. It just sat patiently waiting... She gets all week in the garage, though.
I got to add another bra to the wall.
We got to use a "nut-splitter."
Joe's car is not NA because it's fuel "injected."
Craig's 454 na is gonna kick my cars rear, as soon as he gets one.
Kia is great to have around because she cleans. and rhymes with sophia.
Red nail polish is for summer because you tend to have a darker skin tone, where-as pink is for winter, when your skin tone is whiter.
Exhaust bolt >> Sawsall.
Air Grinder >> Exhaust bolt.
Brandon's Y-pipe blows off on command.
It turns out that hose clamps need to be tight. Except on E-bay Y-pipes, where not even that helps.
360 injectors still suck bawls.
Bryan wants to eat my liver.
Amber wears a smock at work.
Apparently it's social unacceptable to use a Benz as your daily driver.
I got double pancaked.
Brett got taco'd.
My cop neighbor is a playa. two girls at one time.
oh, yeah, Brett's down pipe can lick my ***. I'm not sure if I mentioned that one...

Sounds like everyone had a good time at the gathering. Landing strip or flying "V"....no wonder not too many chicks show up! Just kidding. So what are the tentative plans for the rural cruise? When? Where? Time? Just want to get an idea so I can plan to make it there. Thanks guys
Kyle

I thought it was the girls asking what was prefered?!?! Maybe I'm wrong... Sorry bunk, you have to ask cruise details in the "official" gathering threads. This thread doesn't count.

The rural cruise is still in the planning stages, however the all of the details should be solid by the 10th. The cruise will be held on September 24th. The location will be somewhere near Milwaukee, but not sure on exact meeting location. The meeting time is TBD, but I think it should be around lunch time.

I'd like to still make the rural cruise (I hadn't thought about that until bunk posted, otherwise I'd be calling pat to cancel my insurance now...), but after that she's gonna get the insurance yanked, and then it's a 4000 lb paper weight. Then I have a couple more things I want to do in the engine bay, and then she could go by Mikes for "fitting" I also need to sell the jag, but before I do I'd like to get the keyless entry fixed. Cause when that's not working it's a pain.
