Tell Aaron to quit smoking swisher sweats over your car. How do you get that damn wiper motor off anyway? Is it just a ball and socket type deal? (I'm going to be doing this pretty soon) I hope you didn't take the abs lines out with hedge clippers this time.

You yanked the head lights and hood after I left?
Looks nice.
Was the paint wet in the last photo? Maybe it is just me but the shade looks different. Maybe it is a digtal camera thing.

Greg, You basically remove the 4 bolts holding the wiper motor on, and then there's a retaining nut holding to the washer arm that has to be removed. That's done by removing the black plastic thingies in front of your window. Then you jam a long ass rachet down there with a 12mm socket (or was it 10mm) and pull the nut loose. Then it just pops out with some force.
Joe, Yeah, we did all that crap after you left. It seemed like a good idea after alot of beers. The wet spot pain isn't a direct match because it's just a spray can from Ace, not factory paint. I'm in process of getting the actual factory paint (RA5) to re-do the engine bay. We just did a small section to get an idea what it might look like.
Eric, Rides for anyone, you bet.
Jeff, That's Aaron going to town on one of his cee-gars.
On a side note... I'm ditching my DR500s and going to DR650s. Made that decision late last week.

Jesse you said I could drive your car to break my cherry on driving a TT, does that rule still apply with the DR650s?

I've gotten paint mixed per color code at a PPG paint shop at the corner of Lincoln, Beloit, and 68th in West Allis. There should be something like that near you. It was a 1-2 day turn around on touch-up, spray can, pint, quart, and gallons. A spray can was ~$15 and a pint was ~$30 without solvant a few years ago. Make sure you use the correct color primer. Some color metalics I've gunned onto cars required black primer. Your project has almost graduated to jamb gun status but I don't think your compressor is big enough for the task. Since you've gone this far you will be best off with some 2" and 3" 3M blue masking tape and get some real masking paper so it doesn't bleed through like newspaper can.

Since the engine is out. There's little reason to skimp and NOT paint the entire engine bay in the factory kutani red pearl. You're nuts!!!!!!!!! So what is going to happen if you don't win "best engine bay" at this year's NG? Are you going to chrome plate the whole car. later, Curt

It would be like when Henry Ford had the last Model T made from brilliant stainless steel stamped with the original dies (stainless is hell on the tooling) for their anniversary. Two Thunderbirds of the year were done the same way. The problem was they were too shiny for comfort so Ford had the cars buffed to a dull (#3 maybe like a Delorean) finish. Jesse's car might be too shiny for the road if it were all chrome.

Hehe. Well there's definitely a thing for too much chrome/polish which is why I'm keeping my valve covers in maroon. Otherwise things get too blingy and it starts to look gaudy. Same thing for that ugly chrome wire loom some people use, yuck.

Silver spray paint. Too much chrome? Is that like boobies that are to big? I think I saw something like that once, but I was pretty young, I could have been wrong.
