So If I go over 550 cc injectors with the Arc 2 my timing will be too high causing knock?
Greg is right in thinking I want the simplist quickest and perhaps non percise route.
Anyone want to consider helping me with a shortblock install? I know this is no trivial thing and I would pay for your time, anything is better than paying a shop / dealer though.

Make it worth my time to take a few days off work and I'll come out and rebuild your motor Jason. Don't go with the new shortblock. Yours may not need much.

Hmm well the very least I think would be a new forged crank and all new bearings. + 120k while things are apart. Think the turbo's should be cleaned too? As far as metal in the oil.... I would probably be able to pay for your time/transportion expenses and ofcourse I offer beer shortage insurance. We'd still need a good place to work on it. J

Full engine gasket/seal kit New head bolts New stock rings New valve stem seals New lifters New oil cooler & lines (weren't yours leaking? I don't remember anymore) All new fluids, rtv, and assembly lube As for turbos... I wouldn't worry about them since you have plans to upgrade them (however, now would be the time to do that and get new oil feed/return lines). Need a clutch? Now's the time for that too. You may chuckle at this, but Autozone sells remanned cranks w/ matching bearings for our cars. I've done 3 rebuilds (NA and TT) with them and they are holding up great. There's a guy with about 3K on his rebuild who's running forged internals and 15Gs! I can't remember how much they cost exactly off the top of my head, but they're not too pricey. There's always the option of remanning/balancing your current one and getting a set of matched bearing which would be much much cheeper than a whole new crank.

Heh sorry for the thread hijacking Greg, I would absolutley not go with anything but a shiny new crank. I know they are like 800 bucks, but I want the peace of mind. But yeah, as far as turbos and supporting mods go, It would be nice to get that all done at the same time, but I don't know if I will have enough available funds at this point to just buy the parts even and rather than waiting until winter to do everything I want to have the car up and running good before I get married... - Personal goal. After that my finances will be legally shared.... you can see where this is going... The wedding is going to be on Sept 1st at Olbrich gardens in Madison. Allready payed the 700 bucks to reserve Jason

In my former life, I had a rock band for 6 1/2 years, and my other guitar player used to always tell me these words of wisdom: "If you have the guitar, you can get the girl; if you have the girl, you can't get the guitar."Now just insert the word modz... or car... Holy crap I'm beginning to sound the Mad Scientist! Somebody shoot me. Best, SJ
