Well, I bought an aftermarket hood and the hood pins not yet installed. The hood is fine with normal driving, but at about 70 mph and up, the hood shakes.
Obviously, I don't want my hood to come off at the UMG. Anyone have any ideas that could help me temporarily secure my hood?

Scott:
Try some of the heavier painters tape across all edges. I believe they make two grades -- the grade with the blue interior roll is what you're after, not the orange. Get the real thick width, 2" maybe?
I've seen guys do this at the race track to take away any bad aero effects due to gaps in the hood by the front end and across the front fenders.
Perhaps it might do the same for you and help prevent it from lifting at speed until you can get the hood pins installed.
Ace Hardware is near your house, no?
Test it.

It is about 5 minutes away. I was thinking using a heavy grade painters tape, I just wasn't sure how well it would work. I suppose I'll grab some and hope it does the trick. Usually, I drive the speed limit (or close enough), but this is the UMG.

I though the pins were in last time I saw you at Hooters? Anyway, the painters tape also serves to save your bumper/fender/lower hood from rock chips

I know a handful of people that had their hoods fly off at or under 70. Careful.

Long story short, the pins are not installed, but the catch mechanism is.
Yes, I've heard a lot of hoods coming off at those speeds too. So far (and I've driven this car everyday with this hood on the freeway for a while now), there hasn't been any problems. I'm worried about when I'm at the UMG and am driving faster. I bought some tape, probably take it out tonight and see what happens.
P.s. I fucking hate my car right now.

You know those yellow signs with suggested speeds for the sharp turns? It was my goal to double every one of those last year. I did it in every turn but 1.. the car in front of me got in the way. $#@!

I was driving back from a meeting in Johnson Creek and saw it heading the other way, so I called Johnny, told him what I thought I saw (read: baby blue 3K with primer), but more importantly, what I'm pretty sure I saw... It's great when know your fellow members that well. Sweater Guy, you are my Hero.

Right back at you SJ.
Let me start off by saying that I love these cars, and I love this club. Any one of you is welcome at my house for a beer anytime.
As always, I had a blast at the UMG. Not surprisingly, I've always been embarrassed to bring my car to the meets. Everyone else's car is ridiculously fast, or incredibly clean, or both. My car is, well, neither. Yet all I heard this weekend was that my car was "awesome" or "hilarious" or "epic".
I would've never guessed in a thousand years that my car would ever be considered or referred to as "epic".
As some of you may know, I was all set to either sell or part out my car. In fact, I intended to throw it up on craigslist right after the UMG ended. This year's UMG has made me realize that this car is staying. For good.
I will continue to fix her up as I have been doing, and I have a lot on the roster for this summer now that I wont have to drive her everyday. She will be faster, lower, and all around a lot better looking. Damn, I'm liking the look of that baby blue.
Sorry for the novel
Scott

Scott Why does it have to go faster? Just clean it up, and make it nice. How much blasting down road ways did we really do? The epic part of the weekend was wandering around a parking lot getting plastered and writing on the car. Keep it clean, and save your money for a nice VR4 when it comes along. Just have fun driving your car now.

Because I have neither room nor budget for a third car, and I don't see that situation changing anytime soon.
