AC:
Light off means it's off. Orange means normal AC. Green means max AC. I almost never use the "green mode". In the later years they got rid of the Orange making it a simple on/off switch.
Spoiler:
Yep, fades and cracks. Let me guess, you have a red pre-93 car right? There's no clear coat which is why it fades.
Tranny:
As the trannies age, it's hard to get into 1st while moving and 2nd and 3rd will grind. Fairly common in higher milage cars. It's probably way over due for a flush.

It's not uncommon to see an NA reach the 200K mark.
The plugs should be changed at 120K along with the timing belt and fuel filter. Do you have a hole in the flex section of the down pipe? That would also cause some misfires.

As long as you do the reg maintinance, you should have no problems hitting 200k. I'm pushing 184k very hard miles and i see no real signs of her giving up. Suspension is getting weak. Exhaust needs a little work. But as far as the motor, she's still running strong. I would also check the plugs and replace the wires if the wires are original with 113k.

NGK platinums over anything else. To be honest, non-turbos don't seem to be that picky about spark plugs. Changing them isn't bad. It may seem like a big deal at first, but NT's don't have the EGR stuff so it's not bad really. I can show you how.

Yep. Turbo redline is 7250. Believe NA's are the same. Rev it up and find out.

Studdering problems are usually guess and check. Something like that, could probably an exhaust issue
I think if it was a spark issue, you'd probably have studdering in the upper rpms only.
How old is your fuel filter? When those clog up (should be changed every 60K), they cause bucking/studdering too...

It's tucked under the battery and washer fluid bottle. It's like an oil filter. There's really no way to "check" it. The only way you know it's bad is to just replace it.

Yeah, it'll be under the battery tray, also. you should be able to see it with the battery out, but won't be able to work on it without taking the tray and the washer reservoir out. Line Wrenched wouldn't be a bad idea to take it out, and you may want to get new copper cush washers from mitsu before you start, or reuse your old ones with a chance of leaking, but I don't know who would do that... Two bolts hold it to the fire wall, and then a banjo bolt on the top, and either a banjo on the bottom, or undo the nut in the line about 2-3 inches down the "U" in the fuel line. you'll know when you see it.
