Larry, my painter, finished up painting the engine bay late last week, and Aaron and I finished putting it back together last night. As the car sits, everything but the door jams are sanded and the underside of the hood, hatch, and jams need to be primed. The motor was kept in the car and everything along the walls were stripped. Every body pannel was removed from the car, sanded, and primed while suspended from the roof. I'm glad the car was from NM because I didn't break a single bolt removing all the pannels. All visable evidence of green is gone. My goal was to make this car look like it came this color from the factory. All triming was removed and the roof will remain black. I wasn't origonally going to get this detailed in the engine bay and hatch, but the end result will definately be worth it. There's probably well over 60 hours spread out over 4 months into this project so far. Sanding is very tedious, and it really takes a toll on your fingers. Since the car won't be ready for the UMG, I don't see any point in keeping the color a secrete anymore. Guess what color this is. This is what needs to be done when painting an engine bay with the motor still in the car. www.w3si.org/images/G-Ell/newpics/EngineBayApart.jpgwww.w3si.org/images/G-Ell/newpics/EngineBayApart2.jpgSee any green? www.w3si.org/images/G-Ell/newpics/PassS ... erRear.jpgwww.w3si.org/images/G-Ell/newpics/DriversHeadLight.jpgwww.w3si.org/images/G-Ell/newpics/DriverSide.jpgwww.w3si.org/images/G-Ell/newpics/DriversStrutTower.JPGWe need to wet sand a few parts yet, but the engine bay is pretty much complete. This week, Larry hopes to get the fenders, hatch, and hood painted. I had pictures of the rest of the car, but they all came out blurry. I'll take better ones next time I'm out there.

Yep, Sand Stone Grey Metallic. As far as I know, I will have the only Stealth with this color.

I kinda had an idea after you told me how much you loved the color over at Adam's...
I was contemplating a 2nd gen conversion, the only reason being is people have done SG 99 conversions but I've never seen a SG 97/98 conversion...
I'm eager to see it Greg, it'll look awesome I know it.

Thanks guys!
To my amazement, there are no runs nor orange face in the paint. I can't believe Larry was able to get around the ABS & AC lines with the paint gun. The guy is so fussy, I'd sand a part and he'd come around and redo it because there was a little something I missed or didn't touch right. Definately picked the right man for the job. Too bad this will probably be the last car he will paint.

Nothing much. Next week I'm heading back out there to put the hatch back on the car and pull the door pannels off. Door jams are all that's left. I'll take more pics then.

http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?p=2953656 what the hell is this crap? I link us3s for pictures and I get two people crying right away about how they can't see them, and I should post them on this site, and then you go and link 3si? wtf. Looks good man. Don't sell it when its done after that much work into it.

Everyone here (inlcuding you) is already registered on 3si. Quit your whining. If I can't come up with another $350 a month for rent when the woman leaves, I'm going to have to sell the car.
