I have a helmet - looks like I might not be racing the way the car situation is going. Here is my post from the hwy 100 thread "Got the new windshield in today - no more rock chips and big ass crack. As far as the rest of the car goes, wish I had better news. Ever since I picked it up from the dealer last night, the car just doesn't feel right. The clanking stopped in the transfer case when they drained it and refilled it (they couldn't tell me how much was in there), but it still clanked once or twice. The whirling noise is still there - the one that went away with the new tcase. But I'm saving the best for last. Apparently they took it out for a "test drive" to see if they could get the case to leak. Well, now the car has a major vibration issue. The whole car shakes under acceleration. It isn't too noticeable when just acceleration really slowly, but the faster you accelerate the worse it gets."

The thing is - the whine went away with the new tcase. The whine and clank came back when the fluid started coming out of the new case. I could have a bad vcu I guess. That would also cause a vibration I guess. How bad is it if my vcu is blown? Its just wierd because it was fine when it went to the dealer as far as the vibration thing, but then when I got it back it was noticable.

This is how my buddy ran into this problem. Guess the old yolk just couldn't handle being bent at the high degrees to remove the case. I honestly don't know what your problem is without gathering more info, but it's a suggestion of where to start looking based my eperience with the facts you've given. Either way, those guys at the dealer haven't even addressed the question as to why the new case needed to be refilled already... They're not going to do anything more than they have to because they have to play with this for free.

How can I tell if the yoke is mess up? Also, I posted the full details on another thread. "Dealer replaced my transfer case last week. Last weekend I had the clutch and output shaft replaced. We noticed when we jacked the car up to do the clutch, the new tcase was already leaking but it was leaking out of the vent hole on top. Also, could have been leaking from another place, but it only looked like it was coming out of the vent. We figured the dealer filled it up from the top and just put to much in. So later that week, on my way to go get my tcase check at my buddies house, the Tcase starts to clank again and makes a whining noise at certain speeds. Its the same problem that the old Tcase had when the bearing were shot. So I took it to the dealer right away. They call me back and bitched that whoever did my clutch, filled up the tcase too much and f'd up the vent on the top. We didnt even touch the tcase when we did the clutch except for disconnecting in and putting it back up. So I take it easy on the way home from the dealer and didnt really test the car out. Just listened for tcase noises. So today I take the car out and test it out. The clanking stopped in the transfer case when they drained it and refilled it (they couldn't tell me how much was in there), but it still clanked once or twice. The whirling noise is still there - the one that went away with the new tcase. But I'm saving the best for last. I look on my service invoice and apparently they took it out for a "test drive" to see if they could get the case to leak. Well, now the car has a major vibration issue. The whole car shakes under acceleration. It isn't too bad when just acceleration really slowly, but the faster you accelerate the worse it gets. Im not sure what the hell they did and whats wrong with my car now. Im sick of fixing stuff only to have more stuff get f'd up. I'm about ready to sell the whole car and call it a day. And if the dealer fawked my new TZ clutch on their little test drive..... Please help a frustrated stealth owner"

Me and like 2-3 of my buddys are thinking of heading down there before the winter.. We were talking about finding a schedule and trying to figure out a day that would be good for all of us..
Are you planning on going sometime?? Have you been there before? Anyone want to tell me what its like? Do you pay for 3 runs or do they have different event days? Like here they have one night where you can run unlimited runs for $20 or sometimes you can only have 3 runs for like $15.. Ryan

Just go to www.greatlakesdragaway.com and look at the 2003 schedual link on the left side. Just pick a open fun racing day. Forgot how much it is, but you get as many runs in as you can. Towards the end of the night you can race every 4 min or so if you wanted to. The track is really nice and its been redone recently.

Last year it was $20 to race. And its always been unlimited during open times and fun racing. Just check the site Mike(Vetting) posted. I might go down next thurs night(oct 9th.) for the Real Street Drags. Its just a heads up, no times matter event. First one to the line wins. Now thats my kind of racing.
